Hanwei International Sri Lanka Company Receives Thank-you Letter from Embassy

  On May 31, 2019, the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka held a "Summary Symposium on the Aftermath Work of the 4·21 Terrorist Attack". Ambassador Cheng Xueyuan attended and delivered a speech. More than 50 people including Counselor Hu Wei, Military Attaché Xu Jianwei, Commercial Counselor Yang Zuoyuan, heads of various departments of the embassy, representatives from the Chinese community in Sri Lanka, Chinese enterprises, and volunteers who participated in the incident handling attended the meeting.

  Ambassador Cheng stated that the "4·21" incident brought heavy disaster to Sri Lanka and was also a severe challenge to the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka and Chinese compatriots in Sri Lanka. In the difficult moment when compatriots were suffering, everyone united as one, sacrificed themselves for others, and actively assisted the embassy in properly responding to the "4·21 incident", demonstrating the good image of overseas Chinese and Chinese enterprises in Sri Lanka and reflecting the blood-is-thicker-than-water kinship of Chinese people. He expressed gratitude to the relevant units and individuals for their contributions to the handling of the "4·21" major terrorist bombing incident.


  After the incident occurred, Hanwei's Sri Lanka branch actively cooperated with the embassy and provided assistance for the handling of the incident. At the symposium, Ambassador Cheng presented a thank-you letter to Hanwei's Sri Lanka branch and its country manager Zhao Ming.
