Since July 8, 2021, South Africa has experienced its most severe unrest in 27 years, with incidents of violence, looting, and arson occurring in areas such as Alexandra in Gauteng Province and Durban in KwaZulu-Natal Province.
The unrest has caused severe damage to local social security, with Chinese-owned businesses, warehouses, and other properties being burned and looted, and Chinese enterprises being impacted. This has posed serious threats to the property and lives of Chinese citizens and enterprises in South Africa. Hanwei International's security team in South Africa immediately mobilized security forces to protect Chinese overseas interests, providing comprehensive protection to clients and preventing damage. Additionally, the company actively cooperated with the consular protection work of the Chinese Embassy in South Africa, braving dangers to enter the unrest areas as required by the Embassy, maximizing the protection of Chinese enterprises' assets and the safety of Chinese nationals in South Africa.
On the 21st, the security company in South Africa received a commendation letter from the Embassy, greatly boosting the morale of the frontline security officers.
We will continue to uphold the principle of "Keeping promises and defending the overseas security interests of Chinese citizens," contributing to the protection of China's overseas security interests.
