——Hanwei International Security Officer Rescues Injured Civilians
On a chilly night in mid-November 2021, at 2 a.m., the quiet streets of Shixin Middle Road in Xiaoshan District were suddenly disrupted by an electric bike speeding recklessly. As it took a sharp turn, the rider lost control and crashed violently into a roadside barrier.
The bike skidded and flipped forward for over ten meters, throwing the couple on board to the ground. The woman's piercing screams tore through the silent night.
Sun Shan, an international security instructor who had just completed counter-terrorism training for Chinese enterprises in West Africa, heard the cries and rushed to the scene. He found chaos—the bike was severely damaged, debris was scattered everywhere, and the couple lay injured in separate spots. Sun immediately assessed their conditions and found the man had minor scrapes, but the woman had suffered a severe traumatic fracture with visible ankle deformation. Sun immediately dialed 120 for emergency assistance while judging that without immediate stabilization, the fracture might displace further, potentially causing nerve or vascular damage. He improvised with materials on hand—using two fans from nearby bushes as splints and his shoelaces as straps to secure a makeshift bandage around her ankle, preventing secondary injuries and alleviating pain. After completing the emergency treatment, Sun wiped sweat from his forehead as the woman calmed down. When the ambulance arrived, medical professionals praised Sun's courageous act and highly commended his first-aid skills.
