Recently, a protest against Chinese merchants with over 2,000 participants erupted in San Francisco del Rincón, Guanajuato, Mexico. The protest was organized by a civil association called "La Voz del Pueblo" (The Voice of the People). The association claims that the illegal import of footwear products from China constitutes unfair market competition, severely squeezing the survival space of local businesses and damaging the local employment environment. They are calling on the government and consumers to jointly boycott Chinese merchants. It is reported that since last year, San Francisco del Rincón has witnessed multiple demonstrations against Chinese merchants.
Given the current complex situation in Mexico, Hanwei International reminds all Chinese-funded enterprises, compatriots, and overseas Chinese in Mexico to remain vigilant, closely monitor developments, and take necessary security precautions. In case of emergencies, please contact local police immediately and reach out to the Chinese Embassy in Mexico.
