Afghanistan, Syria, Myanmar, Pakistan, Nigeria, Sudan, Ukraine, Palestine, Venezuela and other locations are classified as extremely high‑risk areas. Frequent armed conflicts, terrorist attacks and other security incidents occurred in these regions during the period. Chinese overseas‑invested enterprises shall strengthen security precautions.

Middle East
(1) Syria
Security Forces Attacked in As‑Suwayda Governorate, Four InjuredOn September 1, Syrian security forces were ambushed while conducting operations near Mansurah Village, As‑Suwayda Governorate, leaving four security personnel injured.
(2) Iraq
Checkpoint Attack in Kirkuk Governorate: One Killed, One InjuredOn September 3, Iraq’s Shiite militia Popular Mobilization Forces issued a statement noting that one of its security checkpoints in northern Iraq’s Kirkuk Governorate came under armed attack, killing one person and wounding another. Relevant authorities have launched an investigation into the attack.
Erbil: Ten Drones Shot DownOn September 2, counter‑terrorism authorities of Iraq’s Kurdistan Regional Government stated that Coalition forces intercepted and destroyed ten drones over Erbil, the regional capital. On the same day, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps launched missile and drone strikes against a U.S. military base in Erbil, Iraq.
(3) Iran
Sustained Armed Conflicts with the United StatesArmed clashes between Iran and the United States continued from August 31 to September 6, causing heavy casualties. On September 1, U.S. Central Command announced that U.S. forces had carried out a new round of strikes against Iranian military targets from the night of August 30 through September 1, destroying multiple air‑defense positions, radar systems, maritime assets and facilities, mine‑laying platforms and communication sites belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. On September 5, U.S. Central Command released a statement confirming U.S. forces “destroyed” three Iranian oil tankers and struck military facilities near Kharg Island. In retaliation, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps launched intensive drone and missile assaults on U.S. radar installations, troop concentrations and Marine Corps bases in Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait on September 1. On September 2, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps issued a statement announcing it had fired heavy ballistic missiles at a U.S. Marine Corps camp along Jordan’s Gulf of Aqaba coast, “destroying several key installations and enemy attack helicopters and inflicting heavy U.S. military casualties”. On September 5, it struck three U.S. vessels and three oil tankers sailing on unauthorized routes through the Strait of Hormuz, in response to earlier U.S. strikes on Iranian oil tankers the same day. On September 6, the Public Relations Department of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced that its Air Force had fired multiple ballistic missiles at one U.S. aircraft carrier and one destroyer. The two warships sustained damage and were forced to withdraw from the conflict zone.
Separately, on September 2 Iran’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement strongly condemning U.S. strikes on Iranian non‑military facilities in violation of the Geneva Conventions. It noted that a U.S. attack on a wedding venue in Sirik County, Hormozgan Province, left 90 Iranians dead or injured, most of them women and children.
Casualty figures: According to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, U.S. strikes on southern Iran on September 1 killed six Iranian service members. U.S. attacks on Khuzestan Province in southwest Iran on September 2 killed seven people and wounded eight. On the same day, a U.S. strike hit a wedding gathering in Kuh‑e‑Soltan, Hormozgan Province, killing five people and injuring eighty‑five.
Oil Tanker Explosion in Hamadan Province Kills TenOn September 5, an oil‑tanker explosion occurred on a highway linking Hamadan Province and Kurdistan Province in western Iran, killing ten people. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
(4) Palestine and Israel
Israel‑Palestine Conflict: 73,400 Deaths Recorded in the Gaza StripBetween August 31 and September 6, Israel launched multiple strikes across Gaza, causing numerous casualties. On August 31, an Israeli attack on the Sabra district of Gaza City killed one person. On September 1, sustained Israeli airstrikes on western Gaza City killed three people and injured eight.
Statistics released by the Gaza Strip Ministry of Health on September 6 showed that since the entry‑into‑force of Phase One of the Gaza ceasefire agreement in October 2025, Israeli military operations in Gaza have killed 1,344 people and wounded 4,398. Since the outbreak of the renewed Israel‑Palestine conflict in October 2023, Israeli military actions in the Gaza Strip have caused more than 73,464 deaths and 174,670 injuries.
(5) Lebanon
Israeli Airstrikes Cause Multiple CasualtiesOn September 4, a series of Israeli airstrikes hit several towns including Mansouri in southern Lebanon, killing at least five people and wounding twenty‑three. According to figures published by Lebanon’s Ministry of Health on September 5, since the resumption of hostilities between Lebanon and Israel on March 2, Israeli attacks on Lebanon have killed 4,358 people and injured 12,359.

(6) Turkey
Multiple Attacks Leave Two Dead, Three InjuredOn September 2, a knife fight broke out on Tepebaşı Street, Kızıltepe District, Mardin Province, leaving three people injured. On September 3, a murder took place in Şirintepe Neighbourhood, Tepebaşı District, Eskişehir Province, killing one person. On the same day, a shooting incident occurred on Ürgüplü Street, Hadımköy Community, Arnavutköy District, Istanbul, killing one person.
(7) Jordan
Ten Iranian Missiles InterceptedOn September 2, the Jordanian Armed Forces stated in a communiqué that Jordan’s air‑defence systems had intercepted ten ballistic missiles originating from Iran over the preceding hours; no casualties were reported.
(8) Yemen
Clashes between Government Forces and Houthi Rebels Kill 117From September 3 to 6, sustained fighting between Yemeni government forces and Houthi rebels erupted across multiple locations in southwestern Taiz Governorate. Approximately 117 people on both sides were killed, dozens wounded, and more than 900 households displaced. In the early hours of September 3, Houthi rebels launched an offensive against government troops in rural western parts of the governorate and briefly seized some territory. Government forces subsequently mounted counter‑attacks, and hostilities persisted. The clashes killed 54 government soldiers and wounded more than 20, while 63 Houthi fighters were killed and dozens injured.
Asia‑Pacific Region
(1) Pakistan
Two Attacks Kill 27On August 31, security forces targeted militants attempting to set up illegal checkpoints along the N‑40 Quetta‑Taftan highway in Balochistan Province, killing eleven militants. From the night of August 31 into the early hours of September 1, a customs facility in Pishin County, Balochistan Province came under armed assault. Five security personnel and one customs officer were killed, and ten attackers were shot dead.
Forty‑Eight Terrorists KilledOn September 4, Pakistan’s Inter‑Services Public Relations Directorate issued a statement reporting that security forces had conducted multiple counter‑terrorism operations across southwestern Balochistan Province over three days, killing a total of 48 terrorists. Six militants were eliminated in Mastung District, with a cache of ammunition and improvised explosive devices seized and destroyed. In Quetta, security forces uncovered four terrorist hideouts and killed 26 militants; another 14 were killed in Kalat. In Sibi, security forces foiled a terrorist plot to assault a police station and eliminated two attackers.

Attack in Phetchabun Province: One Killed, One InjuredOn August 31, a knife‑assault incident took place in Ban Tiu Town, Lom Sak District, Phetchabun Province, killing one person and injuring one. Police are hunting the suspect.
(3) Australia
Sydney Shooting Incident Kills OneOn September 1, a shooting occurred in Sydney, Australia, resulting in one fatality. Multiple gunmen broke into a residence and shot dead a university student. Afterwards, a criminal gang claimed it had been a mistaken killing.
(4) Nepal
Landslides: 1,344 Dead, 4,898 MissingLatest statistics released by Nepal’s National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority on September 5 showed that as of 19:00 on the same day, 1,344 bodies had been recovered from landslide‑stricken areas across the country, while 4,898 people remained unaccounted for.
Africa
(1) Nigeria
Multiple Attacks Leave Ten Dead, One AbductedAccording to monitoring reports from Hanwei International West‑Africa security officers, between August 29 and early September, bandits repeatedly raided communities across four local‑government areas in Kano State: Galadimawa, Rogo, Bebeji and Gwarzo. Three people were killed, five injured and one person abducted. On the afternoon of September 3, bandits assaulted the Girkau community in Kebbe Local‑Government Area, Sokoto State, killing at least five people, wounding three and looting large numbers of livestock. On the same day, armed militants struck the Rim and Welen communities in Riyom Local‑Government Area, Plateau State, killing two people.
Toxic‑Gas Inhalation Incident in Rivers State Kills 37On September 3, a toxic‑gas inhalation accident in Rivers State, Nigeria killed 37 people. Early that morning, roughly 200 people were illegally loading and unloading petroleum products at a dock; many suffocated after breathing toxic fumes released by the petroleum products. At least 37 bodies have been recovered and several persons remain missing. Rivers State Police are jointly investigating the incident with relevant departments.
(2) South Africa
Violent Clashes in Durban, KwaZulu‑Natal Province Leave Multiple InjuredOn September 3, violent clashes erupted between members of anti‑immigration groups and refugee groups camped outside South Africa’s Department of Home Affairs offices in Durban, KwaZulu‑Natal Province, leaving numerous people injured. Around 100 anti‑immigration activists launched a “clean‑up operation” demanding immigrants leave South Africa. Some participants wielded sticks and whips, broke police cordons and threw refugees’ belongings. Violent confrontation followed; one police officer and multiple refugees sustained injuries.
(3) The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC)
Wedding‑Venue Fire in Capital Kills 22On September 5, a fire broke out at a wedding ceremony venue in Kinshasa, capital of the DRC, killing at least 22 people and wounding many others. The cause of the fire remains unknown and relevant authorities are investigating.
Ebola Outbreak Kills 3,072On September 2, the DRC Ministry of Health released updated figures showing 6,342 cumulative confirmed cases and over 3,072 deaths in the current Ebola outbreak, representing a case‑fatality rate of 48.2%. The epidemic has spread to 60 health zones across six provinces: Ituri, North Kivu, South Kivu, Haut‑Uele, Bas‑Uele and Tshopo. WHO experts noted that the ongoing Ebola outbreak is spreading rapidly with exponential growth. The Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention warned that this outbreak has become the deadliest Ebola epidemic on record in the DRC.
(4) Sudan
Ongoing Armed ConflictFrom August 31 to September 6, sustained hostilities took place between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces across multiple locations in Sudan. This week fighting was concentrated in North Kordofan, South Kordofan, Blue Nile states and Darfur. The two sides fought for supply‑road corridors, urban strongholds, grain‑producing zones and border entry‑exit points, causing many civilian casualties. On September 3, drone strikes targeted Debi, south of the Otoro tribe’s area, and Luwayiri in western South Kordofan State, killing 26 people and wounding many, displacing large civilian populations. In addition, two trucks carrying UN food‑aid supplies were hit by airstrikes near Dilling town, South Kordofan State on September 2, destroying emergency relief cargo.
Europe and the Americas
(1) United States
Shooting in Minnesota Leaves Three Dead, Five InjuredOn September 2, a shooting incident occurred in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Three people including the gunman were killed; five others including two police officers were wounded. Reports indicate the shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute, and the perpetrator died by suicide.
Knife Attack in New York: Two Dead, One InjuredOn August 31, a knife‑wielding assault unfolded in Times Square, New York City. One person was killed and one injured; the suspect was shot dead by police. Law enforcement characterised the incident as a “random and unprovoked attack”, and investigations are ongoing.

Sustained Russia‑Ukraine Armed ConflictArmed hostilities between Russia and Ukraine continued from August 31 to September 6. Russia’s Ministry of Defence recently issued battlefield briefings stating that over the past week, Russian Federation forces had carried out massed strikes using air‑launched high‑precision munitions and attack drones against Ukrainian military‑logistics hubs, ports, seagoing vessels and energy‑infrastructure targets. The Yuzhny Port in Odesa Oblast along the Black‑Sea coast was destroyed, and two cargo ships carrying Ukrainian military equipment were hit. Forty‑nine guided aerial bombs and nineteen rockets were intercepted and shot down. Russian forces seized Sviatohirsk in Donetsk Oblast and the Cossack Lopan settlement in Kharkiv Oblast.
For its part, the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces reported that Ukrainian troops repelled Russian assaults on multiple fronts during the week. Ukraine struck multiple Russian troop concentrations, drone launch sites, command posts, ammunition depots, air‑defence hardware and radar installations. Long‑range assets targeted military and air‑defence facilities in border areas of Russia’s Belgorod, Bryansk and Kursk Oblasts.

Ukrainian Attacks Leave Six Dead, Nineteen InjuredOn August 31, Belgorod Oblast in Russia came under Ukrainian missile attack, killing two people and injuring sixteen; seven warehouses caught fire. On September 1, multiple sites in Russian‑controlled Luhansk Oblast were hit by Ukrainian drones, killing four people and wounding three. Numerous civilian vehicles, residential buildings, industrial zones and civilian infrastructure sustained damage.
(4) Netherlands
Shooting in Eastern Netherlands: One Dead, Two InjuredOn September 1, a shooting occurred in a village in the eastern Netherlands. One person was killed and two police officers wounded. Police believe gang‑related feuding lies behind the incident; thirty‑four suspects have been arrested.
(5) Mexico
Two Shooting Incidents Kill FiveOn September 1, a shooting took place in Atizapán City, Zacatecas State, killing four people. Meléndez, a 38‑year‑old musician, was shot dead inside a residential building alongside his wife, daughter and nanny. Police have arrested two male suspects for murder. On September 4, Escobar, a congressman from Mexico’s ruling MORENA party, was shot and killed in Veracruz State.
Firework‑Store Explosion in State of Mexico: Nine Dead, Twenty‑Four InjuredOn the night of September 5, a fireworks‑related explosion occurred in Santa María Canchesta town, central State of Mexico, killing nine people and injuring twenty‑four. A building used for fireworks storage detonated and collapsed, crushing people on‑site. Relevant authorities are investigating the exact cause.

Augsburg Explosion Injures TwoOn September 2, an explosion near a railway station in Augsburg, southern Germany wounded two Ukrainian nationals. After the blast, police located a suspicious object nearby. Details of the explosive device remain unclear; forensic experts have been dispatched to the scene for investigation.
(7) Colombia
Military‑Base Attack in Norte de Santander: Two Soldiers Killed, Five WoundedOn September 4, a military base in Ocaña City, Norte de Santander Department in northern Colombia was targeted by a drone strike carried out by anti‑government group Ejército de Liberación Nacional (ELN). Two service members were killed, five injured and one military aircraft sustained damage.
Twenty Anti‑Government Fighters Killed in Guaviare DepartmentOn August 31, Colombian military forces conducted operations in Guaviare Department in south‑central Colombia, killing twenty members of the anti‑government group Mordisco, including one group leader.
(8) Ecuador
Two Attacks Leave Two Dead, Three InjuredOn August 31, a shooting incident in the El Prado area of Montecristi City, Manabí Province killed one person and injured one. On the same day, a knife homicide took place at a residence in Las Palmas sector of the Nogales‑Izurieta cooperative, Buena Fe City, Los Ríos Province, killing one person and wounding two. The perpetrators remain at large and investigations are underway.

Barracks Explosion in Western Bolivia: Two Dead, Fifty‑Nine InjuredOn September 4, an explosion at a military barracks in Viacha City, western Bolivia killed at least two people, injured fifty‑nine and left seven persons missing. Bolivia’s Ministry of Defence has opened an investigation into the blast.
