(I) Syria
- Transitional Government Takes Control of U.S. Al-Tanf Military BaseOn February 12, the Ministry of Defense of the Syrian Transitional Government announced that its forces had “secured” the Al-Tanf military base and surrounding areas in southern Syria on February 11, and began deploying troops near the Syrian-Iraqi and Syrian-Jordanian borders. Located deep in the southern Syrian desert, adjacent to the borders with Iraq and Jordan, Al-Tanf was a long-term U.S. military base. U.S. and coalition forces have withdrawn from Al-Tanf and relocated to Jordan.
- Attack in Damascus Kills 1, Injures 6On February 13, an attack in the Duf Al-Sahl neighborhood of Jaramana district, southeast of Damascus, killed at least 1 civilian and injured 6. A man clashed with local youths, then threw a grenade and opened fire, wounding multiple people. The perpetrator was subsequently killed.
(II) Iraq
- Explosion at U.S. Diplomatic Facility in BaghdadOn February 9, media reported an explosion on February 7 at the U.S. Diplomatic Support Center in Baghdad, Iraq, with no casualties or damage. The U.S. Embassy in Baghdad stated the incident was contained but provided no further details.
- Iraq Receives 5,700 Islamic State MembersOn February 13, the Iraqi military announced it had received 5,704 members of the extremist group Islamic State (ISIS) from Syria. U.S. Central Command confirmed the completion of transferring ISIS detainees from Syria to Iraq, ensuring “terrorists remain in secure detention facilities.”

Israeli-Palestinian Conflict Kills 72,000 in Gaza
From February 9 to 15, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) continued airstrikes in the Gaza Strip, causing heavy civilian casualties and destroying residential areas, schools, and civilian infrastructure. According to Gaza’s Health Ministry on February 15, Israeli strikes have killed 601 people and injured 1,607 since the first phase of the Gaza truce agreement took effect. Since the conflict erupted on October 7, 2023, Israeli attacks have killed 72,061 Palestinians, injured 171,715, and left nearly 10,000 missing.
(IV) Lebanon
- Israeli Strike Kills 3On February 9, an Israeli missile strike on a vehicle in Tyre, southern Lebanon, killed 3 people, including a military commander of Hezbollah. The IDF stated the commander had planned and carried out multiple attacks against Israeli forces and targets.
- Building Collapse in Tripoli Kills 14On February 9, a five-story old residential building collapsed in Tripoli, northern Lebanon, killing 14 people. Rescue operations are ongoing.

Asia-Pacific
(I) Afghanistan
- Attack in Takhar Province Kills 2, Injures 2On February 11, an anti-government armed group, the Afghanistan Liberation Front, attacked a temporary gathering point in the 6th Security District of Taloqan, capital of Takhar Province, northeastern Afghanistan, killing 2 and injuring 2.
- Chinese Embassy Issues Security AlertOn February 12, the Chinese Embassy in Afghanistan issued a security alert warning of a severe and complex security situation with persistent high terrorist attack risks. Chinese citizens are advised to avoid traveling to Afghanistan. Those already in Afghanistan should comply with local laws, respect religious customs, monitor security updates, strengthen security measures, and minimize travel. In emergencies, contact local police and the embassy immediately.

Multiple Attacks Kill 6, Injure 3
February 10: Militants attacked a Frontier Corps checkpoint in Orakzai tribal district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing 1 soldier.
February 11: Unidentified gunmen attacked a Pakistani security forces patrol in Nushki, Balochistan, injuring 1.
February 11: Police were ambushed near Wandabud village, Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, during a manhunt, resulting in 5 shootings and 1 student injured; the attacker was arrested.
February 11: A shooting in Sarasota County, Florida, killed 5.
February 12: A shooting at South Carolina State University killed 2 and injured 1.
(III) Indonesia
- Shooting incident in South Papua Province kills 2.On February 11, an aircraft carrying 12 people in Indonesia came under gunfire from armed militants while landing at Kologoai Airport in Boven Digoel Regency, South Papua Province, killing 2 pilots and causing multiple bullet impacts to the fuselage. The identity of the attackers is unknown, and relevant authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
(IV) Thailand
- Hostage crisis in Songkhla kills 1, injures 3.On February 11, a gunman took hostages at a school in Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province, southern Thailand, killing 1 school principal and injuring 3 students. Police stated that the attacker was a 17-year-old male who entered Patong Pattanajitwittaya School in Hat Yai District, opened fire, and took several teachers and students hostage. All hostages have been safely released, and the suspect has been arrested by police.

- Attack in Osaka kills 1, injures 2.On February 14, a stabbing attack occurred in Dotonbori, Osaka Prefecture, Japan, killing 1 person and injuring 2 others. The suspect has been arrested by police, and relevant investigations are underway.
(VI) New Zealand
- Two attacks kill 2, injure 1.On February 9, an attack occurred on Fitzgerald Avenue in central Christchurch, New Zealand, killing 1 person and injuring 1. On the same day, another attack took place at a residence on Matatua Road, Raumati Beach, Kapiti Coast, Wellington, killing 1 person.
Africa Region
(I) Nigeria
- Multiple attacks kill 37, injure 8, and abduct many others.According to security monitoring reports by Hanwei International’s West Africa security officer and media sources:
On February 10, a passenger bus was attacked by unidentified gunmen along the Utonkon–Ojapo/Okpoga road in Benue State, north-central Nigeria, killing 2 people and abducting at least 14 passengers.
On February 10, Tse-Kaseve village in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area, Benue State, was attacked by suspected Fulani armed herders, killing 2 police inspectors and 2 civilians.
On February 11, a vehicle traveling along the Hayin Dam-Sabon-Kurutu-Kachia road in Kaduna State was ambushed by armed militants, injuring 2 passengers and abducting 11 others.
On February 12, armed militants attacked Unguwar Na Ma’u village, Kakumi community, Bakori Local Government Area, Katsina State, killing 2 civilians and injuring 6 others.
On February 14, three communities in Niger State came under armed attack, killing at least 30 people and abducting an unknown number of others.
- In addition, armed men set fire to houses and police stations, forcing some local residents to flee their homes.
- Traffic accident in Kano State kills 30.On February 9, a traffic accident occurred in Gezawa Local Government Area, Kano State, northern Nigeria, killing at least 30 people and leaving many others seriously injured. A truck carrying passengers and goods lost control due to “reckless driving”, veered off the highway and crashed, causing heavy casualties.
(II) South Africa
- Two armed militants killed in Eastern Cape.On February 10, South African police carried out an anti-gang operation in Eastern Cape Province, killing 2 armed militants, arresting 2 others, and seizing a number of weapons and ammunition.
(III) Niger
- Oil facility attacked.On February 10, the Niger-based anti-government armed group Mouvement Patriotique pour la Liberté et la Justice (MPLJ) raided the Agadem-Dibella oil facility in Diffa Region, killing at least 24 soldiers, damaging oilfield infrastructure, and destroying several military vehicles. The facility is part of the Niger-Benin oil pipeline project, invested and constructed by China.
(IV) DRC (Democratic Republic of the Congo)
- Armed attack in North Kivu kills 3, injures 6.On February 9–10, Kaguri village in the Nyiragongo area, North Kivu Province, DRC, was attacked by unidentified armed groups, killing 3 people and seriously injuring 6 others.
(V) Sudan
- Armed conflict continues.From February 9 to 15, clashes between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces continued across Sudan. Heavy fighting occurred in the three states of Kordofan, with attacks targeting civilian facilities, schools, hospitals, markets, residential areas, and UN humanitarian convoys, killing more than 90 civilians and injuring 142 others.
- On February 13, the United Nations, the African Union, the Intergovernmental Authority on Development, the League of Arab States, and the European Union issued a joint statement urging all parties to the Sudan conflict to immediately end hostilities and implement a humanitarian ceasefire during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan to protect civilian lives.
(VI) Madagascar
- Declares a state of national disaster.On February 10, Tropical Cyclone Gezani made landfall in Toamasina, a city on the eastern coast of Madagascar, killing 31 people, destroying large numbers of infrastructure and houses, and affecting more than 250,000 people. On February 11, Madagascar declared a state of national disaster.

(I) United States
Multiple Shootings Cause Casualties
February 11: A shooting in Sarasota County, Florida, killed 5.
February 12: A shooting at South Carolina State University killed 2 and injured 1.

(II) Ukraine
Russia-Ukraine Conflict Continues
From February 9 to 15, Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine continued. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported intensive strikes targeting Ukrainian military-industrial facilities, energy infrastructure, ammunition depots, airfields, drone production sites, and troop concentrations. Russian forces captured 4 settlements in Kharkiv, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia. Air defenses shot down 5 Ukrainian “Flamingo” cruise missiles, 28 guided bombs, 39 HIMARS rockets, 4 “Neptune” missiles, and 1,243 drones.
Ukraine’s General Staff stated its forces repelled Russian attacks, launched counteroffensives, and maintained pressure in the Kursk direction. Ukrainian air defenses intercepted over 1,000 Russian drones targeting energy and military facilities.
(III) Canada
Mass Shooting in British Columbia Kills 10
On February 10, a shooting spree in Table Ridge, British Columbia, killed 10 people (including the gunman) and injured 25. The 18-year-old gunman, Jesse Van Rooyselaar, a former student at Table Ridge Middle School, killed 2 relatives at a home before opening fire at the school library and committing suicide. The motive is under investigation.
(IV) France
Police Attack in Paris
On February 13, a man stabbed police officers near the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. He was shot by police and died of his injuries. Prosecutors identified the suspect as a French national who served 12 years in Belgium for terrorism and was released in December 2025.

Ukrainian Strikes Target Multiple Locations
February 12: A drone attack caused a fire at an oil refinery in Ukhta, Komi Republic.
February 13: A missile strike hit an ammunition depot in Kotluban, Volgograd Oblast, causing a fire (no casualties).
February 13: An attack on an electrical facility in Belgorod Oblast killed 2, injured 5, and disrupted power, heating, and water supplies.
(VI) Mexico
Pipeline Explosion in Oaxaca Kills 3, Injures 6
On February 11, an explosion at a Pemex oil pipeline in Oaxaca, southern Mexico, killed at least 3 and injured 6 during routine maintenance. Safety operations are ongoing.

(I) Pacific & Caribbean Sea
U.S. Military Actions Kill 5
February 10: U.S. Southern Command’s Joint Task Force “Southern Spear” struck a suspected drug-smuggling vessel in the eastern Pacific, killing 2.
February 13: A U.S. strike on a suspected drug boat in international Caribbean waters killed 3.
Since early September 2025, U.S. operations in the region have caused dozens of casualties.
(II) Libya
Migrant Boat Capsizes Kills 53
On February 9, a boat carrying 55 African migrants capsized off Zawiya, Libya, killing 53 and leaving 2 survivors. The International Organization for Migration reported at least 375 deaths or disappearances in Mediterranean shipwrecks in January 2026 due to extreme weather.
(III) Indian Ocean
U.S. Intercepts Oil Tanker
On February 9, the Panama-flagged tanker Aquila II was intercepted and boarded by U.S. forces in the Indian Ocean. The U.S. claimed the vessel violated sanctions-related isolation orders imposed by President Trump in the Caribbean, with tracking from the Caribbean to the Indian Ocean.
