This issue compiles global regional security intelligence and dynamic information from September 29 to October 5, 2025. Based on security risk assessment, the security levels of various regions are as shown in the Global Risk Map. Afghanistan, Syria, Myanmar, Pakistan, Nigeria, Sudan, Ukraine, Palestine, and Israel are classified as extremely high-risk areas. During this period, security incidents such as armed conflicts and terrorist attacks occurred frequently in these regions. Chinese-funded enterprises stationed abroad must enhance their own security precautions.

Middle East Region

(I) Syria

Explosion in Southern Syria Injures 1 PersonOn September 29, an explosion occurred near an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) outpost in southern Syria, seriously injuring one IDF reserve officer. The cause of the explosion is currently under investigation.

(II) Palestine and Israel

Israel-Palestine Conflict Has Killed 66,200 PalestiniansFrom September 29 to October 5, the IDF continued to launch attacks on multiple locations in the Gaza Strip, causing massive casualties. On September 30, the health department of the Gaza Strip issued a statement saying that in the past 24 hours, the IDF’s military operations in the Gaza Strip had killed 42 Palestinians and injured 190 others, including 5 people who were killed while waiting to receive humanitarian aid supplies. As of October 3, since the outbreak of the new round of Israel-Palestine conflict, the IDF’s military operations in Gaza have killed 66,288 Palestinians, injured 169,165 others, and left more than 8,000 people missing.

Israel Attacked by Houthi RebelsOn October 5, Yahya Saree, military spokesperson of the Yemeni Houthi rebels, stated in a speech that the Houthis had used "Palestine-2" multi-warhead hypersonic ballistic missiles to attack and hit multiple sensitive targets in Jerusalem, forcing millions of Israelis to flee to shelters. In response, the IDF stated on the same day that it had intercepted a missile launched by the Yemeni Houthi rebels, with no casualties or property losses reported.

Rally in Capital in Solidarity with "Global Resilience Convoy"On October 1, a large number of people in Tripoli, the capital of Libya, held a rally to show solidarity with the "Global Resilience Convoy" that was transporting humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

Asia-Pacific Region

(I) Pakistan

Suicide Bombing in Balochistan Kills 15, Injures 30On September 30, the headquarters of the Frontier Corps in southwestern Pakistan’s Balochistan Province was hit by a suicide bombing, killing at least 10 people and injuring 30 others. On the same day, a terrorist drove a car loaded with explosives into the outer wall of the Frontier Corps headquarters in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan Province, causing heavy casualties among people on a bus and a rickshaw. Later, 4 terrorists who had sneaked into the building were killed in an exchange of fire with security forces. Currently, no organization has claimed responsibility for the attack.

(II) Myanmar

Chinese Enterprise in Sagaing Region AttackedOn September 30, media reports stated that a Chinese-funded copper mine in Salinji Town, Sagaing Region, Myanmar, had been attacked by unidentified armed personnel with rockets on the 28th, with no casualties reported so far. At present, no organization or individual has claimed responsibility for the attack.

(III) Philippines

Earthquake in Cebu Province Kills 72, Injures 294At 21:59 on September 30, a magnitude 6.9 earthquake occurred in the sea area approximately 19 kilometers northeast of Bogo City, Cebu Province, central Philippines, with a focal depth of 5 kilometers. The earthquake has killed 68 people, injured 559 others, damaged 87 infrastructure facilities and 597 houses, and affected more than 360,000 people. It also triggered landslides, hindering earthquake rescue efforts. After the earthquake, 53 towns and cities in Cebu Province declared a state of disaster.

(IV) Indonesia

School Building Collapse in Java Kills 53On the afternoon of September 29, a building of a school in Sidoarjo Regency, East Java Province, Indonesia, collapsed, killing 53 people and leaving 10 others missing. On the evening of October 5, Frieze, the on-site commander of Indonesia’s National Search and Rescue Agency, stated that the joint search and rescue team had found 27 bodies of the victims on the same day and was still searching for the missing persons.

(I) Nigeria

Multiple Attacks Kill 7, Kidnap 21According to a monitoring report from Hanwei International’s security officer stationed in West Africa:
  • On September 29, a large group of armed militants blocked the Ugurma-Ibbi-New Bussa Highway in the Mashegu Local Government Area of Niger State and ambushed passing vehicles near the Ibbi National Forest Park along the highway, kidnapping more than a dozen passengers. On the same morning, suspected Fulani armed herders attacked a market in Zaki Biam Town, Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State, killing 1 person.

  • On September 30, a large group of armed militants attacked Ibeto Town and nearby villages in the Magama Local Government Area of Niger State, killing 4 local residents and kidnapping 9 others.

  • On October 1, an armed gang attacked the Tsauni Community in the Gusau Local Government Area (the capital of Zamfara State), kidnapping 2 current state legislators and 1 traditional leader. In the evening of the same day, an armed gang attacked Kungabokun Village in the Byazhin Area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja, kidnapping 4 villagers. On the same day, armed militants attacked Bethel Village in the Ejiba Community of the Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State, kidnapping 3 people. On the same day, armed militants attacked a commercial bus near Ojuwo Olijo Village along the Itobe–Anyagba Highway in the Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State, kidnapping 7 passengers.

  • In the early morning of October 2, an armed gang ambushed passing vehicles along the highway in the Patigi-Lade Community of the Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State, kidnapping 1 community police officer. In the evening of the same day, an armed gang ambushed passing vehicles along the highway in the Kachia-Awon Community of the Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State, killing 2 passengers and kidnapping many others.

Boat Capsizing in Kogi State Kills 26On October 1, a boat carrying a large number of passengers capsized on the Niger River in Kogi State, central Nigeria, killing 26 people. The passengers on board were mainly traders traveling from Kogi State to Edo State. Currently, the cause of the boat capsizing is unknown, and rescue work is still ongoing.

(II) South Africa

Shooting in Eastern Cape Kills 1On October 2, a shooting incident occurred in the Notintwa area of Ngqushwa Municipality, Eastern Cape Province, South Africa, killing a child. On the same day, an 8-year-old boy accidentally fired a gun, killing his 7-year-old cousin. The police have opened a case for investigation.
Traffic Accident in Limpopo Kills 13On September 29, a bus collided with two trucks on the R81 Highway in Limpopo Province, killing 13 people. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

(III) Somalia

Prison in Mogadishu AttackedOn October 4, the Godka Jilacow Prison in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia, was attacked by militants of the Somali "Al-Shabaab" group. On the same day, multiple militants detonated a car bomb near the prison in an attempt to rescue terrorist suspects. Later, the militants exchanged fire with the police, and many attackers were killed. This is the fourth large-scale attack launched by Al-Shabaab against prisons this year.

(IV) Zimbabwe

Vehicle of Chinese Enterprise RobbedOn September 29, media reports stated that financial staff of a Chinese enterprise in Zimbabwe had been robbed in Norton Town, Mashonaland West Province, on the 27th. On the same day, the Chinese enterprise staff were traveling by car to the capital Harare with a large amount of cash when they were stopped by 3 "police officers" in uniform. Subsequently, the 3 individuals forced the driver to drive to a remote path, robbed all the cash, and fled.

(V) Sudan

Armed Conflict ContinuesFrom September 29 to October 5, the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces continued to exchange fire in various parts of Sudan. This week, the two sides mainly fought fiercely for control of North Darfur State in western Sudan, causing a large number of civilian casualties. According to statistics, the armed conflict that has lasted for more than two years has killed over 30,000 people and displaced 12.9 million people in Sudan.

(VI) Egypt

Traffic Accident in Giza Kills 2 Chinese CitizensOn September 29, a traffic accident occurred near the Giza Pyramids scenic area in Giza Province, Egypt, killing 2 Chinese citizens and injuring 3 others. Currently, staff from the Chinese Embassy in Egypt have rushed to the scene to coordinate the handling of the aftermath.

(I) United States

Two Shooting Incidents Kill 4, Injure 12
  • On October 4, a shooting incident occurred at a truck stop in Angleton, Texas, USA, killing 2 children and seriously injuring 2 others. At present, the person involved has been detained, and the case is under investigation.

  • On the same day, a mass shooting incident occurred on a commercial street in Montgomery, the capital of Alabama in the southeastern United States, killing 2 people and injuring 12 others. On the same day, two groups of unidentified individuals exchanged gunfire, causing multiple casualties.

Refinery Explosion and Fire in CaliforniaOn October 2, an explosion occurred at a refinery in El Segundo, California, USA, triggering a fire. No casualties have been reported so far. The cause of the explosion is currently under investigation.

(II) Ukraine

Russia-Ukraine Armed Conflict ContinuesFrom September 29 to October 5, Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine continued. The Russian Ministry of Defense recently released a battle report stating that in the past week, the Russian military had launched multiple cluster strikes on Ukraine’s military-industrial enterprises as well as natural gas and energy infrastructure. It used the "Iskander-M" missile system to strike a Ukrainian drone launch site east of Chernihiv, destroying multiple long-range drone assembly sites, unmanned boat production workshops, and 20 trucks carrying 100 drones. The air defense system intercepted multiple "HIMARS" rockets and shot down nearly 1,000 drones. It also took control of the Verkhny Bohunetske residential area in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.
On the Ukrainian side, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces stated that within this week, the Ukrainian military had repelled Russian attacks in multiple directions and launched attacks against Russian forces in directions such as Kupiansk, Toretsk, and Novopavlivka. The Ukrainian Air Force, missile forces, and artillery attacked targets including Russian personnel concentration areas, ammunition depots, material storage bases, and command posts. At the same time, the Ukrainian military used drones to attack targets such as an oil refinery in Russia’s Orenburg Oblast. In addition, Russia and Ukraine conducted another exchange of prisoners of war on October 2, with each side repatriating 185 captured personnel to the other.

(III) Ecuador

Conflicts Triggered by Protests in Imbabura Kill 1, Injure 12From September 27 to 29, demonstrations broke out in multiple cities in Imbabura Province in northern Ecuador to protest the government’s cancellation of diesel subsidies. During this period, some demonstrators clashed with security forces. Demonstrators "ambushed" a convoy transporting food to the northern mountainous areas in Cotacachi City of the province, resulting in the death of 1 security force member escorting the convoy, injuries to 12 others, and 17 people missing. An Ecuadorian government spokesperson condemned the above-mentioned violent acts, stating that "some terrorist groups have infiltrated the demonstrations," leading to the escalation of conflicts.

(IV) Canada

Shooting in Quebec Kills 1, Injures 2On October 1, a shooting incident occurred at a coffee shop in Laval, Quebec Province, Canada, killing 1 man and seriously injuring 2 others. Ian Lafrenière, Quebec’s Minister of Public Security, stated that the shooting was related to criminal groups and no civilian casualties were caused.

(V) France

Shooting in Nice Kills 2, Injures 5On October 3, a shooting incident occurred in Nice in southeastern France, killing 2 people and injuring 5 others. On the same day, the suspect fired indiscriminately at the crowd from inside a car. Currently, the suspect is still at large.

(VI) Russia

Ukrainian Attacks Kill 4, Injure 6
  • On September 29, the Voskresensk District of Moscow Oblast, Russia, was attacked by Ukrainian drones, killing 2 people including a child. On the same day, Russia’s Belgorod Oblast was attacked by Ukrainian forces, killing 2 people and injuring 6 others.

  • On October 3, Ukraine used hundreds of drones to attack the Orsk Oil Refinery, which is approximately 1,400 kilometers away from the Russia-Ukraine border, causing an explosion in the hydrogenation unit and triggering a fire.

(VII) United Kingdom

Attack in Manchester Kills 3, Injures 3On October 2, a car ramming and stabbing incident occurred outside a synagogue in Heaton Park, Manchester, UK, killing 2 people and injuring 3 others. Investigations showed that the suspect was a Syrian-British citizen and was shot dead on the spot. The police also arrested 2 suspects on the scene on suspicion of "preparing for terrorist activities." At present, the police have classified the attack as a terrorist attack.

Maritime Security

(I) Gulf of Aden

Attack on Cargo Ship Injures 2On September 29, a cargo ship flying the Dutch flag was hit by a missile and caught fire in the international waterway of the Gulf of Aden in southern Yemen, injuring 2 crew members. The Yemeni government stated that the Houthi rebels had launched multiple missiles at the cargo ship, with at least one missile hitting the hull. Currently, the Houthi rebels have not responded to the attack.

(II) Greece

U.S. Military Attack Kills 4On October 3, a Venezuelan ship was attacked by U.S. rockets in the international waters of the southern Caribbean Sea near Venezuela, killing all 4 people on board. U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin stated that the ship was associated with "terrorist organizations" and drug trafficking groups and was carrying a large amount of drugs intended to be transported to the United States. This is the 3rd Venezuelan ship sunk by the U.S. military in the international waters of the southern Caribbean Sea since September.

(III) Mediterranean Sea

Gaza Aid Convoy Intercepted by IsraelFrom the evening of October 1 to the early morning of October 2, the "Global Resilience Convoy" transporting humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip was intercepted by the Israeli Navy in the high seas of the Mediterranean Sea. The Israeli military first jammed the convoy’s communication signals, then boarded the ships and took more than 400 people on board to Israel, and towed the ships to the Ashdod Port in southern Israel. The convoy, consisting of 47 ships, departed from Spain a month ago to provide humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. After the incident, many countries issued statements condemning Israel for blatantly violating international law and urging Israel to ensure the safety of the people on board and release them immediately.
