This issue compiles global regional security intelligence and information dynamics from August 4 to 10, 2025. Based on security risk assessment, the security levels of various regions are as shown in the Global Risk Map. Afghanistan, Syria, Myanmar, Pakistan, Nigeria, Sudan, Ukraine, Palestine, and Israel are classified as extremely high-risk areas. During this period, security incidents such as armed conflicts and terrorist attacks occurred frequently in these regions. Chinese-funded enterprises stationed abroad must enhance their own security precautions. (This information is for the internal risk assessment of our company only)
Middle East Region
(I) Syria
Southern Syria Attacked by Israeli Forces. On August 4, media reports stated that the Hadr area in southern Syria was attacked by Israel on August 3; there were no reports of casualties or property losses yet. The Israeli military claimed that its armed forces launched ground operations at 4 locations in the area, arrested multiple suspects involved in arms trafficking, and seized a large quantity of weapons.
(II) Iraq
Erbil Shooting Leaves 3 Dead. On August 6, a shooting incident occurred at a gas station in Erbil, the capital of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, killing at least 3 people. At the time of the incident, a driver had an argument with staff after refusing to pay for spilled gasoline, which subsequently led to the shooting. Currently, the suspect has been arrested by the police, and relevant investigations are underway.
(III) Palestine and Israel
Palestinian Death Toll from Israel-Palestine Conflict Reaches 61,300. From August 4 to 10, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched continuous attacks on multiple locations in the Gaza Strip of Palestine, resulting in a large number of casualties. Among these, IDF military operations in various parts of the Gaza Strip on August 7 killed at least 100 Palestinians and injured 603 others. As of August 9, since the outbreak of the new round of Israel-Palestine conflict, IDF military operations in Gaza have caused 61,369 Palestinian deaths and 152,850 injuries.

(IV) Lebanon
Israeli Attacks Kill 6, Injure 10. On August 6, the IDF carried out airstrikes on multiple Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon. The targeted sites included arms depots, rocket launchers, and storage facilities for engineering equipment. On August 7, a car was attacked by an Israeli drone near a border checkpoint in the Bekaa Valley in eastern Lebanon, killing 5 people and injuring 10 others. On the same day, a man was killed in an Israeli drone attack near his residence in the town of Kafr Dan in eastern Lebanon.
Asia-Pacific Region
(I) Pakistan
Three Attacks Cause 14 Deaths and 17 Injuries. On August 6, Pakistani security forces were attacked in the Karak area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province in northwestern Pakistan, killing 3 border guard soldiers and 1 driver. On August 5, a military camp in the Nushki District of Balochistan Province, Pakistan, was attacked with an improvised explosive device (IED), killing at least 3 security force personnel (including a major) and injuring 3 others. Pakistani security forces subsequently launched a clearance operation in the area, killing 4 terrorists. On August 7, a patrol police vehicle was attacked by a remote-controlled bomb in the South Waziristan area of northwestern Pakistan, killing 3 passers-by and injuring 14 people (including 1 police officer). Currently, no organization or individual has claimed responsibility for this incident.
Anti-Terrorism Operations Kill 47 Terrorists. From August 7 to 9, Pakistani security forces launched anti-terrorism operations in the Zhob area of Balochistan Province in southwestern Pakistan (adjacent to the Afghanistan border), killing a total of 47 militants from the terrorist organization "Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP)" and seizing a large quantity of weapons and ammunition.
(II) Myanmar
Magway Air Base Hit by Explosion Attacks. On August 8, the Magway Air Base in Magway Province, Myanmar, was attacked by two bombs; no casualties were reported yet. After the incident, the Myanmar civilian armed group "People's Defense Force" claimed responsibility for the attack.
(III) Australia
Melbourne Café Set on Fire. On August 6, a café in Melbourne, Australia, was set on fire. That night, 2 unidentified individuals broke into a café in southeastern Melbourne and used accelerants to start the fire; 1 staff member and 2 customers in the café escaped in time.
Chinese Consulate-General in Melbourne Issues Security Alert. On August 9, the Chinese Consulate-General in Melbourne issued a security precaution alert stating that in recent days, Chinese tourists and international students have been subjected to unprovoked assaults and attacks in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia, posing a serious threat to the personal safety of Chinese citizens. The Consulate-General reminds Chinese citizens in Australia that if they encounter verbal provocation or physical assault from strangers, they should try to avoid direct confrontation, find a way to leave quickly, and promptly call the Australian police emergency number "000" or seek help from the Consulate-General.
(IV) India
Fight at Temple in Madhya Pradesh Kills 2, Injures 3. On August 5, a fight broke out at a temple in Madhya Pradesh, India, killing at least 2 people and injuring 3 others. On that day, a large number of people gathered at the Kubreshwar Temple in the Sehore area of Madhya Pradesh to participate in religious activities. Due to overcrowding, physical conflicts broke out at the scene, leading to casualties.
(V) Cambodia
Chinese Embassy in Cambodia Issues Security Update. On August 5, the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia issued a statement saying that two serious cases involving Chinese citizens have occurred recently in Phnom Penh and Kandal Province, Cambodia. The Chinese Embassy in Cambodia immediately negotiated with the Cambodian side, urging the Cambodian police to solve the cases as soon as possible, arrest the suspects, severely punish the perpetrators, and effectively protect the lives and property safety of Chinese citizens in Cambodia. Currently, the Cambodian police have arrested multiple suspects in the case involving Chinese citizens in Kandal Province. Relevant cases are under investigation and trial.
Africa Region
(I) Nigeria
Multiple Attacks Cause 16 Deaths and 118 Kidnappings. On August 4, media reports stated that an armed attack occurred in Zamfara State in northwestern Nigeria on August 3, killing 11 people and kidnapping at least 70 others. That night, a group of bandits rode motorcycles into four villages, abducted a large number of villagers, and opened fire on those who resisted. Currently, no organization or individual has claimed responsibility for the attack. On August 6, another armed kidnapping incident occurred in Zamfara State in northwestern Nigeria, with at least 45 women and children abducted. This was the second large-scale kidnapping incident in the region within a few days. On August 7, an armed attack occurred near Babanla in the Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, killing 2 people and kidnapping 3 others. On August 8, two villages in the Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State were attacked by bandits, killing 3 people.
[Security Alert] According to the monitoring report of Hanwei International's security officer stationed in West Africa, from August 5 to 9, large-scale heavy rainfall will occur across Nigeria, which may trigger natural disasters such as floods and mudslides, as well as their secondary disasters. High-risk states include: Ogun, Lagos, Anambra, Delta, Akwa Ibom, Bauchi, Ebonyi, Cross River, Nasarawa, Benue, Kaduna, Katsina, Kebbi, Kano, Niger, Plateau, Taraba, Jigawa, Yobe, Zamfara, Sokoto, Borno, and Gombe. Relevant parties and residents are called on to take immediate preventive measures to effectively protect personal and property safety. In case of emergency, please call the police in time and contact the embassy/consulate.
(II) Mali
Chinese-Funded Enterprise in Segou Province Attacked. On August 6, a Chinese-funded enterprise located on the outskirts of the town of Dougabougou in Segou Province, Segou Region, Mali, was attacked by members of the extremist group "Jama'at Nasr al-Islam wal Muslimin (JNIM)". Multiple trucks and buildings in the factory were burned down.

Chinese Embassy in Mali Issues Security Alert. On August 4, the Chinese Embassy in Mali issued a security alert stating that in recent days, malicious incidents such as kidnappings and attacks targeting foreign enterprises and personnel outside the Malian capital Bamako have occurred frequently, causing serious consequences and further increasing security risks. In this regard, all Chinese citizens in Mali are reminded to strengthen security protection; gold mining enterprises and personnel must immediately stop work, evacuate, and report relevant information.
(III) Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC)
319 Civilians Killed in One Month. On August 6, Volker Türk, United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, issued a statement saying that in the past month, at least 319 civilians in 4 villages in the Rutshuru area of North Kivu Province in eastern DRC have been killed by the Congolese anti-government armed group "M23 Movement" and other armed groups. This includes at least 48 women and 19 children. Türk expressed "shock" at the attacks on civilians in eastern DRC and called for an immediate end to all attacks on civilians.
(IV) Sudan
Armed Conflict Continues. From August 4 to 10, the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) continued to exchange fire in multiple parts of Sudan. This week, the two warring parties fought fiercely for control of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur State in western Sudan, and parts of North Kordofan State in central Sudan, resulting in a large number of civilian casualties. The armed conflict that has lasted for more than two years has caused over 30,000 deaths in Sudan and displaced more than 12.9 million people. In addition, the conflict has severely damaged Sudan's healthcare system, leading to the large-scale spread of infectious diseases such as cholera and dengue fever. The Sudanese Ministry of Health stated on August 5 that since the latest round of cholera outbreak in Sudan in July 2024, the epidemic has spread to all 18 states of the country, with a total of 96,681 reported infection cases and 2,408 deaths.
UAE Plane Attacked in South Darfur State Kills 40. On August 6, the SAF shot down a United Arab Emirates (UAE) plane in Nyala, the capital of South Darfur State in western Sudan, killing at least 40 people. On that day, a UAE plane was bombed by the Sudanese Air Force after landing at Nyala International Airport. It is claimed that the plane was carrying Colombian mercenaries and weapons/equipment for the Sudanese RSF. The UAE has denied this.
(V) Kenya
Plane Crash in Nairobi Kills 6. On August 7, a light aircraft carrying 4 people crashed in a residential area of Kiambu County on the outskirts of Nairobi, Kenya, killing 4 people on board and 2 residents in the community; multiple buildings collapsed. The aircraft belongs to an international medical organization, and there were 3 medical staff and 1 pilot on board, with the destination being Hargeisa, Somalia. Currently, the Kenyan government has launched an accident investigation.

Europe and America Region
(I) United States
Six Shooting Incidents Cause 6 Deaths and 22 Injuries. On August 4, a shooting incident occurred at East 14th Street and Griffith Avenue in Los Angeles, California, USA, killing 2 people and injuring 6 others. On August 6, a shooting incident occurred at Fort Stewart Army Base in Georgia in the southeastern US, injuring 5 soldiers; the suspect has been detained. On August 7, a shooting incident occurred in Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania, killing 1 woman and injuring 2 police officers; the suspect was shot dead by the police. On August 8, a police officer was shot and injured while responding to a shooting incident near the Atlanta campus of Emory University, and later died after rescue efforts failed; the gunman was subsequently shot dead. On August 9, a shooting incident occurred at the intersection of 44th Street and 7th Avenue in Times Square, New York, injuring 3 people. On the same day, a shooting incident occurred in Baltimore, USA, injuring 6 people.
(II) Ukraine
Russia-Ukraine Armed Conflict Continues. From August 4 to 10, Russia's special military operation in Ukraine continued. The Russian Ministry of Defense recently released a battle report stating that in the past week, the Russian military has carried out seven rounds of precision weapons and attack drone swarm strikes, targeting military command posts, military airports, and temporary deployment points for foreign mercenaries. The Russian air defense system destroyed 8 "Storm Shadow" cruise missiles, shot down 1,508 fixed-wing drones, and damaged a railway hub in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. The Russian Black Sea Fleet destroyed 3 unmanned boats in the Black Sea waters. On the Ukrainian side, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces stated that within this week, the Ukrainian special forces launched a series of military operations, attacking multiple Russian military targets including BK-16 landing craft, radar stations, arms depots, and personnel assembly points. The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense Intelligence Directorate launched an attack on the 90th Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade of Russia's Krasnodar Krai, causing multiple casualties among Russian troops and damage to multiple pieces of military equipment.
(III) Mexico
Armed Attack in Reynosa Kills 1. On August 5, Ernesto Velázquez, Attorney General of Tamaulipas State, Mexico, was killed in an attack by unidentified individuals in Reynosa. At the time of the incident, the attackers first threw a hand grenade at the vehicle he was riding in, and Velázquez was shot after getting out of the car. Currently, the identity of the attackers is unknown, and local law enforcement agencies have launched a joint investigation with federal institutions.
(IV) Chile
Shooting in Santiago Injures 1 Chinese Citizen. On August 4, a shooting incident occurred in the Quinta Normal area of Santiago, the capital of Chile, injuring 1 Chinese businessman. On that day, the businessman was shot by an unidentified man while checking out for a female customer in his own shoe store. The attacker then fled the scene by car. Currently, the motive for the shooting is unknown, and the police have launched an investigation into the incident.
(V) Russia
Military Airports Attacked by Ukrainian Forces. On August 4, the Ukrainian military claimed to have carried out airstrikes on the Saki military airport in Crimea (controlled by Russia) and Russia's Sochi Airport, destroying an aviation ammunition depot, 2 Su-30SM fighter jets, 3 Su-24 fighter jets, and an oil depot. The Russian side has not responded to this.
(VI) Ecuador
Three Shooting Incidents Cause 10 Deaths and 7 Injuries. On August 5, a shooting incident occurred in Pasaje, El Oro Province, Ecuador, killing 2 people and injuring 1 other. On the same day, a shooting incident occurred at a funeral in the Samborondón Cemetery in Guayas Province, Ecuador, injuring 3 people. On August 10, a shooting incident occurred in Santa Lucía, Guayas Province, western Ecuador, killing 8 people. In the early morning of that day, a group of armed men arrived in two cars and opened fire on the crowd outside a nightclub in northern Santa Lucía. The police stated that one of the deceased was the brother of Ubaldo Urquizo, the mayor of Santa Lucía.
Four Provinces Declare State of Emergency. On August 7, Ecuadorian President Noboa signed a decree, declaring a 60-day state of emergency in El Oro Province, Guayas Province, Los Ríos Province, and Manabí Province due to the high incidence of violent crimes and the escalation of gang violence in many parts of the country, in order to crack down on organized crime groups entrenched in various regions.
Maritime Security
(I) Indonesia
Speedboat Capsizes Near Bali Kills 2 Chinese Citizens, Injures 6. On August 5, the Indonesian speedboat "Dolphin 2" capsized due to high waves while sailing from Nusa Penida Port to Sanur Port in Bali Province, killing 2 Chinese citizens, injuring 6 others, and leaving 1 Indonesian crew member missing. At the time of the incident, there were a total of 80 people on board, including 73 foreign tourists, 2 local tourists, and 5 crew members; 77 people were rescued. After the accident, the Chinese Consulate-General in Denpasar immediately contacted relevant Indonesian authorities to verify the casualties of Chinese citizens. Currently, search and rescue operations are still ongoing.

(II) Ukraine
Two Explosions in Waters Near Odesa Oblast Kill 3. On August 10, two explosions occurred in the waters near Odesa Oblast, Ukraine, killing 3 tourists. Preliminary data shows that the explosions occurred in the sea approximately 50 meters from the shore. The victims were swimming in a dangerous area where swimming is prohibited when they came into contact with explosives.
