Global Security Intelligence Summary (July 21-27, 2025)

      This issue compiles global regional security intelligence dynamics from July 21 to 27, 2025. Based on security risk assessment, the security levels of various regions are as shown in the Global Risk Map. Afghanistan, Syria, Myanmar, Pakistan, Nigeria, Sudan, Ukraine, Palestine, and Israel are classified as extremely high-risk areas. During this period, security incidents such as armed conflicts and terrorist attacks occurred frequently in these regions. Chinese-funded enterprises stationed abroad must enhance their own security precautions. (This information is for the internal risk assessment of our company only)

Middle East

(I) Syria

  • 145,000 displaced by conflicts in Suwayda Governorate: On July 23, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) released a report stating that conflicts in Syria's Suwayda Governorate have displaced over 145,000 people. Meanwhile, large-scale disruptions to electricity, water, fuel, and communication facilities have occurred, leading to severe shortages of food and fuel.

  • 2 dead, 70 injured in Idlib Governorate explosion: On July 24, an explosion occurred at an ammunition depot in the northern part of Idlib Governorate in northwestern Syria, killing 2 people and injuring 70 others. The cause of the explosion remains unknown.

(II) Iraq

  • 10 "Islamic State" militants arrested: On July 24, Iraqi counter-terrorism forces launched clearance operations in Diyala, Salahuddin, Nineveh, Kirkuk, Anbar, and Sulaymaniyah, arresting a total of 10 militants from the extremist group "Islamic State" and destroying 6 hideouts.

(III) Palestine and Israel

  • 59,676 Palestinians dead in Israel-Palestine conflicts: From July 21 to 27, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) continued to launch attacks on multiple locations in the Gaza Strip of Palestine, resulting in a large number of casualties. The Gaza Strip Health Department issued a statement on the 25th, saying that IDF military operations in Gaza over the past 24 hours had killed at least 89 Palestinians and injured 467 others. As of July 25, since the outbreak of the new round of Israel-Palestine conflicts, IDF military operations in Gaza have killed 59,676 Palestinians and injured 143,965 others. In addition, on the 23rd, the residence of staff and the main warehouse of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza Strip, were attacked by Israel, and 1 staff member was detained.

  • Houthi rebels claim to attack multiple Israeli targets: On July 21, Yemen's Houthi rebels issued a statement saying that the group had launched drone attacks on five targets in Israel, including Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, Eilat Port, and Ramon Airport. The IDF stated that one Houthi drone was shot down on the same day.

  • 9 injured in vehicle-ramming attack: On July 24, a vehicle-ramming incident occurred in the central Israeli town of Kfar Yona, injuring 9 people. Currently, the police are searching for the vehicle involved.

(IV) Yemen

  • Hodeidah Port hit by IDF air strikes: On July 21, Hodeidah Port, controlled by Yemen's Houthi rebels, was hit by Israeli air strikes. There have been no reports of casualties or property damage so far. The IDF stated that the strike targets included engineering vehicles, fuel containers, and "ships used for military activities".

  • Dozens dead and injured in clashes between Yemeni government forces and Houthis in Saada Governorate: On July 25, Yemeni government forces clashed with Houthi rebels in Saada Governorate in northwestern Yemen, resulting in dozens of deaths and injuries. The Yemeni military stated that the Houthis launched a surprise attack on government forces on the Aleb front in Saada Governorate near Saudi Arabia. The government forces then counterattacked, killing and injuring dozens of Houthi fighters, destroying 3 military vehicles. The clashes also caused the death of 10 government soldiers.

(V) Lebanon

  • IDF claims to kill 2 Hezbollah fighters: On July 24, the Israel Defense Forces issued a statement saying that it had launched air strikes on Hezbollah weapons storage facilities and rocket launch facilities in southern Lebanon, killing 1 Hezbollah fighter in the Aita al-Shaab area. On July 26, the IDF killed Ali Abdul Kadir Ismail, a senior Hezbollah commander, in the Bint Jbeil area of southern Lebanon.

(VI) Iran

  • Multiple casualties in Kurdistan armed conflicts: On July 22, Iran's border guards clashed with anti-government armed groups while conducting patrols in the border area of Kurdistan Province in western Iran, resulting in the death of 3 border guards and the killing of multiple armed militants.

  • 5 dead, 13 injured in attack on judicial institution in Sistan and Baluchestan Province: On July 26, an armed attack occurred on a judicial institution in Zahedan, the capital of Sistan and Baluchestan Province in southeastern Iran, killing at least 5 people and injuring 13 others. On the same day, the attackers first attacked the judicial institution building and then launched an indiscriminate attack on the surrounding crowd. After the incident, the terrorist organization "Jaish al-Adl" (Army of Justice) claimed responsibility for the attack.

Asia-Pacific Region

(I) Afghanistan

  • 4 dead in Badakhshan Province shooting incident: On July 21, a shooting incident occurred in the Shahr-e Buzurg area of Badakhshan Province, Afghanistan, killing 4 people.

  • 1 dead, multiple injured in China-related conflict in Badakhshan Province: On July 21, a China-related conflict incident occurred in the Shahr-e Buzurg area of Badakhshan Province, resulting in the death of 1 local resident and injuries to multiple people, including 1 Chinese citizen. On the same day, a conflict broke out between local residents and security personnel protecting Chinese engineers, due to a "mining rights dispute". In response, the Chinese Embassy in Afghanistan reminded Chinese citizens and institutions in northern provinces such as Badakhshan and Takhar to strengthen security precautions and reduce unnecessary outings in the near future. In case of emergency, please call the police in a timely manner and contact the embassy for assistance.

(II) Pakistan

  • 6 dead, 3 abducted in Balochistan Province clashes: On July 21, media reports stated that on the 20th, Pakistani troops clashed with armed militants in the Dera Bugti area of Balochistan Province, resulting in the death of 6 border defense force soldiers and injuries to 10 others. On the same day, 3 Pakistani police officers were abducted by unidentified individuals while patrolling in the Ladha police station area of South Waziristan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province. Currently, the identity of the attackers and the whereabouts of the abducted personnel remain unknown.

(III) Thailand and Cambodia

  • Hundreds of casualties in border armed conflicts: From July 24 to 27, armed conflicts broke out between Thailand and Cambodia in the disputed border area, resulting in 33 deaths and dozens of injuries. The Thai side stated that Cambodian troops had used field artillery and BM-21 rocket launchers to bomb Thai troops, communities, and hospitals for 3 consecutive days, causing 20 deaths and dozens of injuries, and over 100,000 Thai citizens were evacuated to safe areas. Thailand has sent official letters to 26 countries, stating that Cambodian troops took the lead in launching attacks, seriously violating Thailand's sovereignty. The Cambodian side stated that Thai troops had launched attacks on 7 locations in Cambodia's Oddar Meanchey Province and Preah Vihear Province using artillery, F-16 fighter jets, tanks, bomb-carrying drones, and cluster bombs, causing 13 Cambodian deaths and 71 injuries, forcing 586 schools to close, and evacuating more than 3,400 households with tens of thousands of Cambodian civilians to safe areas. On the 27th, Cambodian Ministry of National Defense spokesperson Chum Socheat stated that from 2:00 to 6:00 local time, Thai troops continued to violate Cambodian territory and fired artillery shells at multiple locations in Preah Vihear Province and Oddar Meanchey Province, and Thai troops resumed launching ground troop attacks at 6:00. In response, the United Nations Security Council held an emergency closed-door meeting on the 25th regarding the Cambodia-Thailand border conflict, calling on both sides to resolve the dispute through peaceful means. The Chinese Embassies in Cambodia and Thailand reminded Chinese citizens in Cambodia and Thailand to closely monitor the local security situation and avoid traveling to the relevant areas along the Cambodia-Thailand border. Personnel and institutions already in the area should take timely precautions and evacuate.

  • 2 Chinese tourists dead, 1 injured in Thailand's Typhoon Vipa: On July 21, when Typhoon Vipa passed through Phuket and Krabi Province in Thailand, 2 Chinese tourists were killed. On the same day, a 53-year-old Chinese woman and her husband were crushed by a large tree on a Phuket beach, resulting in 1 death and 1 injury. On the same day, a Chinese man was swept away by waves on a beach in Krabi Province, Phuket, and his body was found in the sea one kilometer away.

(IV) Australia

  • 2 injured in 2 attacks: On July 21, a stabbing incident occurred in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, injuring 1 person. On the same day, a home invasion and robbery occurred in Edmondson Park, Sydney, New South Wales, injuring 1 person and resulting in the theft of a large number of items. Currently, the police have launched investigations into the attack incidents.

(V) Bangladesh

  • 27 dead, 78 injured in trainer aircraft crash: On July 22, a Bangladesh Air Force FT-7 BGI trainer aircraft crashed in the capital Dhaka due to mechanical failure during training, killing 27 people (including the pilot) and injuring 78 others. On the same day, the military aircraft crashed into a school in Dhaka shortly after taking off from Kurmitola Air Base in Dhaka, causing dozens of student casualties. Currently, the Bangladesh Air Force has established an investigation team to conduct a detailed investigation into the accident.

  • 6 dead, 25 injured in Uttarakhand stampede: On July 27, a stampede occurred at a temple in Uttarakhand in northern India, killing at least 6 people and injuring 25 others.

Africa Region

(I) Nigeria

  • 22 dead, 11 abducted in multiple attacks: According to monitoring reports from Hanwei International's security officers stationed in West Africa and media reports: On July 20, two villages in the Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State, Nigeria, were attacked by armed bandits, resulting in the abduction of 4 people. The bandits sneaked into the villages through Yankari National Park, looted five grocery stores, and abducted four store owners. On July 24, the Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, Nigeria, was attacked by suspected Fulani bandits, killing 14 people. On the same day, the victims were ambushed by armed militants while traveling back to their residences. The armed militants blocked the road when the vehicles passed and sprayed gunfire into the vehicles, killing 14 people on the spot and injuring multiple others. On July 25, a shooting incident occurred in three communities in the Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State, Nigeria, killing at least 7 people and injuring multiple others. On July 25, the Ilela village in the Gashaka Local Government Area of Taraba State, Nigeria, was attacked by suspected armed bandits, resulting in 1 death and 7 abductions.

  • 13 dead in Niger State boat capsizing incident: On July 26, a wooden boat in Niger State, Nigeria, capsized while en route to the market in the Shiroro area of Niger State, killing at least 13 people, with multiple others missing and 3 rescued. Currently, the exact number of passengers on the boat is unknown, and rescue work is still ongoing.

(II) South Africa

  • 2 dead, 3 injured in Pretoria shooting incident: On July 21, media reports stated that a shooting incident occurred at a bar in the Centurion area south of Pretoria, Gauteng Province, South Africa, on the 20th, killing 2 people and injuring 3 others.

(III) Niger

  • Oil pipeline attacked in Dosso Region: On July 22, the Niger-Benin oil pipeline, constructed and operated by CNPC (China National Petroleum Corporation) in Yaya Town, Birni-N'Konni Area of Dosso Region, Niger, was damaged, causing a large amount of oil leakage. This is the second time the pipeline has been damaged since May this year. Currently, no individual or organization has claimed responsibility for the attack.

(IV) Mali

  • Chinese Embassy in Mali issues security alert: On July 23, the Chinese Embassy in Mali issued a security alert stating that the security situation in Mali has been severe recently. Terrorist attacks and armed conflicts have spread from the north to Kayes, Koulikoro in the west, and Bougouni in the south. 恶性 incidents such as abductions, shootings, and robberies occur frequently, and gold mining personnel and enterprises have become key targets of attacks. It specifically reminds Chinese-funded enterprises and personnel engaged in gold mining in Mali to report information immediately, and illegal gold mining personnel to stop work and evacuate immediately.

(V) Sudan

  • Armed conflicts continue: From July 21 to 27, the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces continued to exchange fire in multiple locations in Sudan. This week, the two conflicting parties fought fiercely for control of the capitals of North Kordofan and South Kordofan states. The armed conflicts that have lasted for more than two years have resulted in over 30,000 deaths and more than 12.9 million displaced people in Sudan. In addition, the conflicts have caused a severe humanitarian disaster, with a large-scale spread of cholera. The Sudanese Ministry of Health issued a statement on July 22, saying that since the outbreak of a new round of cholera in the country in July 2024, the cumulative number of cases has reached 91,034, with 2,302 deaths.

(VI) Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC)

  • 43 civilians dead in attack on church in Ituri Province: On July 27, a Catholic church in the Komanda area of Ituri Province in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo was attacked by the Ugandan anti-government armed group "Allied Democratic Forces" (ADF), killing at least 43 civilians and leaving multiple others missing. Most of the victims were Catholic believers preparing for the Sunday religious celebration.

Europe and America Region

(I) United States

  • 1 dead, 1 injured in New Mexico shooting incident: On July 25, a shooting incident occurred in a dormitory building of the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA, killing 1 person and injuring 1 other. Currently, the gunman is at large.

  • 11 injured in stabbing incident in Michigan: On July 26, a stabbing incident occurred at a Walmart store in Traverse City, Michigan, USA, injuring at least 11 people. The police stated that a 42-year-old suspect used a folding weapon to attack people and has been arrested.

(II) Ukraine

  • Russia-Ukraine armed conflicts continue: From July 21 to 27, Russia's special military operation in Ukraine continued. The Russian Ministry of Defense recently released a battle report stating that over the past week, the Russian military has launched 10 joint strikes on Ukrainian military targets such as Ukrainian military-industrial enterprises, military airport infrastructure of the Ukrainian armed forces, and drone assembly and storage facilities of the Ukrainian armed forces using air-based high-precision weapons and attack drones. The Russian air defense system intercepted and destroyed 27 Ukrainian aerial bombs, 7 rockets, 4 "Neptune" missiles, and 2,049 drones. The Russian Black Sea Fleet destroyed 4 Ukrainian unmanned boats. The Russian military took control of 5 settlements in Kharkiv Oblast, Donetsk Oblast, and Zaporizhzhia Oblast. On the Ukrainian side, within this week, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces stated that the Ukrainian Air Force, missile forces, and artillery attacked concentrations of Russian military personnel and weapons, and command posts. (III) Denmark

  • 1 dead, 2 injured in Copenhagen shooting incident: On July 21, a shooting incident occurred in the Tingbjerg area in the northwestern suburbs of Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, killing 1 person and injuring 2 others. Currently, the cause of the shooting incident remains unclear, and it cannot be confirmed whether it is related to gang activities.

(IV) Ecuador

  • 14 dead, 2 injured in 3 shooting incidents: On July 21, a shooting incident occurred in southern Guayaquil, Ecuador, killing 3 people and injuring 2 others. On July 22, a shooting incident occurred in the Susaia area of Pinillas Canton, El Oro Province, Ecuador, killing 1 man. On July 20, a shooting incident occurred at a billiard hall in Playas, Guayas Province, central Ecuador, killing 10 people. In response, the city of Playas declared a 60-day state of emergency.

(V) Russia

  • 5 dead, multiple injured in Ukrainian attacks: On July 23,
