Global Security Briefing
This issue summarizes global security intelligence dynamics from September 16 to 22. According to risk assessments, regions marked as extremely high-risk on the global threat map include Afghanistan, Nigeria, Myanmar, Pakistan, Ukraine, and Palestine-Israel. Middle East Region
(1) Syria
Damascus attack kills Iraqi militia official.On September 20, Israeli strikes on Damascus suburbs killed Abu Haidar Haifa, security advisor to Iraq's Kataeb Hezbollah militia in Syria.
(2) Iraq
Salahuddin shooting wounds 2.On September 17, unidentified gunmen attacked federal police during counterterrorism operations in Samarra's Al-Kush area, injuring one officer and one security personnel.
Kirkuk operation kills 6 ISIS militants.On September 19, Iraqi forces conducted airstrikes and ground raids on an ISIS hideout in Kirkuk, eliminating senior member Omar Salah Nima and five others, while seizing suicide belts and weapons.

Gaza death toll exceeds 41,000.From September 16-22, intense clashes continued between Israeli forces and Hamas/PIJ in central Gaza and Khan Younis. The conflict has now killed 41,431 Palestinians (including 22 in a September 21 school strike) and injured 95,818.

Lebanon attacks kill 2 Israelis.On September 17, Lebanese drone strikes caused no casualties. Hezbollah killed two soldiers on September 19, then launched 140 rockets at Israeli bases on the 20th. On September 21, 90 rockets targeted Galilee, Safed and Golan Heights (casualties unconfirmed).

Israeli strikes kill 34, wound 68.September 17 Israeli rocket attacks on southern Lebanon killed 3. On September 20, four missiles hit a Beirut apartment, killing senior Hezbollah commander Ibrahim Aqil and 30 others, wounding 68. September 21 strikes on Hezbollah launch sites caused unconfirmed casualties.

Communication devices explosion kills 37.Explosions in pagers and walkie-talkies across Lebanon on September 17-18 killed 37 and injured 2,931. Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah called Israel's mass detonation a "red line" equivalent to war. The UN and EU condemned Israel, urging restraint.

Houthi attack kills 5 soldiers.On September 16, Houthi artillery and rockets killed three government troops (including commander Mohamed Hamidi) in Dali'a Province. Earlier on September 14, clashes over mountainous terrain near Lahij-Taiz border left two soldiers dead and five wounded.

Herat traffic accident kills 9.On September 18, a speeding-related crash in western Afghanistan's Herat Province claimed nine lives.
(2) Pakistan
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa clashes kill 18.On September 20, Pakistani forces killed five militants crossing from Afghanistan in North Waziristan. Separately, militants attacking a South Waziristan checkpoint left six security personnel and seven attackers dead.

Sagaing armed attack kills 12 villagers.On September 17, unidentified gunmen ambushed farmers traveling to fields in northern Myanmar's Sagaing Region, killing 12 and injuring three.

Dengue fever deaths exceed 120.Bangladesh's Health Directorate reported on September 19 that the country has recorded 21,966 dengue cases and 122 deaths this year. Dengue fever, transmitted by mosquitoes, causes severe flu-like symptoms and can be fatal.

(1) Nigeria
Two attacks kill 8.According to Hanwei International's West Africa security monitoring and media reports, armed assailants killed three worshippers and kidnapped dozens during a September 18 church attack in Kaduna State. Separately, gunmen killed five in a Plateau State community.
Northern school bus crash kills 25 children.On September 16, an overspeeding school bus carrying 63 children collided head-on with a truck in northern Nigeria, killing at least 25 and injuring 38.

Bamako attacks cause mass casualties.On September 17, militants attacked Bamako's Faradi Gendarmerie School and international airport, killing 77 and wounding 255. After hours-long clashes, al-Qaeda affiliate JNIM claimed responsibility, forcing temporary airport closure.
(3) DR Congo
ADF attack kills 20 in Ituri village.Rebels from the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) killed at least 20 and kidnapped multiple victims during a September 18 raid on Monge village.
(4) Niger
Three attacks kill 12 soldiers.From September 15-17: 1) Militants overran a Tillabéri military camp 100km northwest of Niamey (5 dead, 25 wounded); 2) An IED hit a patrol in Diffa (5 dead, claimed by ISWAP); 3) The Patriotic Movement for Liberty and Justice attacked Agadez barracks (2 dead, 6 wounded).

Clashes cause dozens of casualties.Key incidents: 1) September 19 drone strike on Khartoum-White Nile border bus (civilian casualties); 2) September 21 SAF-RSF clashes in El Fasher (11 dead including 3 children); 3) RSF artillery hit Omdurman (4 dead, 9 wounded).
Cholera outbreak kills 315.Sudan's Health Ministry reported on September 16 that the July cholera outbreak has caused 315 deaths across 47 districts in 8 states, with 9,533 cases. Over half of hospitals are non-operational due to conflict, accelerating disease spread.

Ukraine's General Staff stated its forces repelled Russian advances and targeted command posts.

ELN bomb kills 2 soldiers in Arauca.The September 17 attack on an army base wounded 25. President Gustavo Petro condemned this "act of terrorism" threatening peace talks with the National Liberation Army (ELN).

Cartel war in Sinaloa kills 32.Clashes between Mayo and Chapito cartels from September 15-17 left 2 soldiers and 30 civilians dead. Mexico deployed thousands of troops, arresting 30+ gang members and seizing weapons/vehicles.
