During this period, these regions experienced frequent security incidents such as armed conflicts and terrorist attacks.Chinese enterprises operating abroad should enhance their security precautions. Middle East Region

(1) Syria

Multiple areas attacked by Israel, resulting in23 deaths and 16 injuries.On November 11, an Israeli airstrike targeted a humanitarian aid convoy in Shamsin Town, Homs Governorate, central Syria, with unclear casualties and property damage. The Homs-Damascus highway was temporarily closed. On November 13, Israeli forces launched airstrikes on bridges and roads near the Syria-Lebanon border in the Al-Qusayr area of Homs Governorate, disrupting cross-border traffic. On November 14, three buildings in the Mezzeh area of Damascus and a residential building in the Qudsaya suburb were hit by Israeli airstrikes, killing 23 people and injuring 16, including women and children, with multiple structures damaged. On November 15, Israel attacked a military base in the Mezzeh area again, with casualties unknown.

(2) Iraq

4 ISIS militants killed in Kirkuk Governorate.On November 16, Iraqi military forces conducted an operation against ISIS militants in Kirkuk Governorate, northern Iraq, resulting in the death of 4 militants and the destruction of their hideout.

(3) Palestineand Israel

The Palestinian-Israeli conflict has claimed over4.37Palestinianpeople have died.From November 11 to 17, the Israeli Defense Forces continued to launch airstrikes on central and southern Gaza, resulting in a large number of Palestinian casualties. As of November 14, the latest round of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has caused 43,736 Palestinian deaths and 103,370 injuries.The ongoing attacks have also led to a severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Locally,90% of the population has been displaced, facing widespread shortages of food, medicine, and clean water. With the arrival of winter and the rainy season, living conditions will deteriorate further. Additionally, humanitarian aid efforts are severely obstructed. UN Secretary-General's spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric stated that 85% of the humanitarian aid operations planned by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs for Gaza have been denied or hindered.

Multiple locations in Israel were attacked.On November 12, the Iraqi militia group 'Islamic Resistance' issued a statement claiming responsibility for three drone attacks that day on a military target and two other locations in Israel. On the same day, the Israeli military base Nahal Sorek in central Israel was hit by a ballistic missile attack from Yemen's Houthi rebels, with casualties unknown. On November 16, the southern Israeli port city of Eilat was again targeted by a Houthi drone attack.

(4) Lebanon 

The Lebanon-Israel conflict continues.From November 11 to 17, Hezbollah and the Israeli Defense Forces engaged in ongoing clashes in southern and eastern Lebanon, among other areas. During the week, Hezbollah continued to launch rocket and artillery attacks on northern Israeli border cities such as Nahariya and the capital Tel Aviv. On the Israeli side, military aircraft carried out missile and rocket strikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut, including Dahieh, and northeastern Lebanon. According to statistics released by Lebanon's Ministry of Public Health on the 15th, since early October last year, the conflict between Hezbollah and Israel has resulted in 3,445 Lebanese deaths, 14,599 injuries, and over 100,000 homes completely destroyed. Additionally, the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) was attacked twice by Israeli forces on November 14 and 15, with no casualties reported.

(5) Yemen

Multiple locations were hit by U.S. and UK airstrikes.On November 12, areas under Houthi control in Yemen, including Hodeidah, Amran, and Saada provinces, were targeted in three attacks by U.S.-UK coalition forces, with no immediate reports of casualties or property damage.

(6) Iran

Sistan and Baluchestan Province killed15 terrorists.On November 11, the Quds Force of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps stated that from November 9 to 11, the organization conducted a special counter-terrorism operation in Sistan and Baluchestan Province in southeastern Iran, killing 15 terrorists, arresting 33, and securing the surrender of 2.

 

Asia-Pacific Region

(1) Pakistan  

Two attacks resulted in6 deaths and 24 injuriesOn November 11, a security forces checkpoint in the Mach District of Pakistan's Balochistan Province was attacked by terrorists, resulting in the death of 1 soldier and injuries to 8 others. On November 14, an explosion occurred in a village in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province in northwestern Pakistan, killing 5 and injuring 16, with some houses damaged. No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the attacks.

Balochistan Province killed4 militants.On November 13, Pakistani security forces conducted a counter-terrorism operation in the Mach District of Balochistan Province, killing 4 terrorists, including a terrorist leader.

(2) India

Manipur State attack resulted in5 missing.On November 11, armed militants attacked locations including the Borobekra Police Station in Jiribam District, Manipur State, northeastern India. Security forces subsequently engaged in a firefight with the militants, killing 11. The clash also injured 2 security personnel, left 5 civilians missing, and burned several shops.

(3) Myanmar

Two bombings caused 20 deaths and 24 injuries.On November 11, military aircraft bombed Mogok City in Mandalay Region, Myanmar, killing 9 and injuring 13, including 1 child, with nearly 50 houses damaged. On November 12, a tea shop in the market district of Nawnghkio Town, northern Shan State, was bombed by military aircraft, killing 11 civilians, injuring 11, and damaging 5 private vehicles.

 

Africa Region

(1) Nigeria

Nasarawa State village attacked.According to a monitoring report by Hanwei International's West Africa security officer,on November 15, unidentified assailants attacked Mili Uku and Azuba villages in Eggon Town, Nasarawa State, Nigeria. Casualties and property damage remain unreported. The perpetrators fled along the A3 highway toward Lafia. Chinese nationals and businesses in Nigeria are advised to avoid the area.

(2) South Africa

Cape Town shooting incident resulted in2 deaths.On November 11, media reported that a shooting incident occurred at a bar in Belville, Cape Town, Western Cape Province, South Africa on the 10th, resulting in the deaths of two people, including a Chinese businessman. At the time of the incident, the businessman arrived at the bar accompanied by a bodyguard. While the bodyguard went to the restroom, the businessman and a local resident were shot and killed. Currently, the police have launched an investigation into the shooting.

Chinese citizen kidnapped in Western Cape.On November 13, a Chinese citizen was kidnapped while opening a shop on Govan Mbeki Avenue in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality, Eastern Cape Province, South Africa. During the incident, three suspects forcibly pushed the victim into a car and fled the scene. The whereabouts of the kidnapped Chinese citizen remain unknown, and the police have intervened in the investigation. This is the second kidnapping case in the area within the past few days.

 (3) Chad

Lake Region operation kills96 Boko Haram members.From November 10 to 11, the Chadian military conducted a clearance operation against the extremist group Boko Haram in the Lake Region, killing at least 96 militants and injuring 11. The operation also resulted in the deaths of 15 government soldiers and injuries to 32 others. The clearance operation is still ongoing.

 (4) Ethiopia

Assassination of ruling party official in Amhara State.On November 11, Delbe Belete, the Prosperity Party secretary of Kobo Town, North Wollo Zone, Amhara State, Ethiopia, was shot dead while having breakfast at the Mikile Solomon Hotel in Kobo Town. It is reported that this incident is part of a series of recent attacks targeting Ethiopian government officials in the Amhara region.

(5) Democratic Republic of the Congo

Clash between police and civilians at Sino-Congolese mining enterprise in Haut-Katanga Province leaves4 dead.On November 14, a clash between police and civilians occurred at a Sino-Congolese joint venture mining enterprise in the Kambove area of Likasi City, Haut-Katanga Province, Democratic Republic of the Congo, resulting in four deaths. On the same day, an artisanal miner illegally entered the Sino-Congolese joint venture mining enterprise to demand overtime pay, leading to a confrontation with the Congolese national police. Subsequently, dozens of workers joined in, demanding improved working conditions and higher wages, and set fire to multiple buildings and police vehicles. Four miners were killed or injured in the clash. The situation has now been somewhat brought under control.

(6) Central African Republic

Chinese Embassy in CAR issues security alert.On November 14, the Chinese Embassy in the Central African Republic issued an urgent reminder: Currently, most regions of the Central African Republic are experiencing frequent severe security incidents, and the security situation is severe and complex. The security risk level for all areas outside the capital Bangui is classified as red. In light of this, the Chinese Embassy in the Central African Republic once again urgently reminds Chinese citizens to temporarily avoid traveling to areas outside the capital Bangui. Institutions, enterprises, and individuals already in these areas should evacuate or relocate to safer zones as soon as possible. In case of emergencies, please report to the police immediately and contact the embassy.

(VII) Sudan

Armed conflicts persist.From November 11 to November 17, the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces continued intense clashes in areas surrounding the capital Khartoum,the western city of Omdurman, and multiple fronts in the central region. The ongoing armed conflict, which has lasted over a year, has resulted in approximately24,800 deaths and displaced more than 11.6 million people. Currently, the number of people in Sudan requiring humanitarian aid has risen to 28.9 million, of whom 16.9 million are in urgent need of life-saving assistance, with 97% of the population facing "severe hunger."

  

Europe and America

(I) United States 

6 shooting incidents result in 10 deaths and 2 injuries.On November 11, a shooting occurred at a bar in Wheeling, Chicago, killing one man; on the same day, shootings at three residences in southern Wichita, Kansas, left five dead; on November 13, a shooting at a well-known chain supermarket in Los Angeles, California, resulted in one death and one injury; on November 16, a shooting and suspected arson incident in Lancaster, Los Angeles County, California, caused three deaths and one injury. According to statistics from the U.S. "Gun Violence Archive" website, as of November 16, over 14,700 people have died in various gun violence incidents in the U.S. this year, with more than 28,300 injured.

(II) Ukraine

Ongoing armed conflict between Russia and UkraineFrom November 11 to 17, Russia's special military operation in Ukraine continued. The Russian Ministry of Defense recently released a combat report stating that over the past week, Russian forces advanced on various fronts, gaining control of multiple settlements in the Donetsk and Kupiansk regions. Simultaneously, they launched dozens of strikes targeting Ukrainian drone and missile component production workshops, energy facilities, military airfields, fuel depots, and logistics centers. They destroyed Ukrainian tanks, howitzers, electronic reconnaissance stations, ammunition depots, and other equipment, while intercepting and shooting down dozens of drones, multiple HIMARS rockets, and aerial bombs. On the Ukrainian side, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine recently reported that Ukrainian forces repelled hundreds of Russian attacks this week in areas such as Kupiansk, Pokrovsk, and Kurakhove. Currently, the most intense fighting is occurring in the Kurakhove and Pokrovsk directions, with Ukrainian forces continuing to hold their defensive lines.

(3) Ecuador

Prison riot in Guayaquil results in15 deaths and 14 injuries.On November 12, a violent attack occurred at the Litoral Prison in Guayaquil, southwestern Ecuador, resulting in at least 15 inmate deaths and 14 injuries. In the early hours of the day, a brawl and murders broke out among inmates at the prison, leading to multiple casualties. Ecuadorian security forces have now taken full control of the prison and conducted a large-scale search inside. Authorities stated that the conflict arose due to criminal gangs vying for control within the prison.

Shooting incident in El Oro Province leaves1 deadOn November 11, a shooting occurred in the Chaguana area of El Guabo Canton, El Oro Province, Ecuador, resulting in one fatality. Police are currently investigating the case.

(4) Haiti

U.S. passenger plane hit by gunfire, resulting in1 injury.On November 12, three U.S. jetliners were struck by gunfire at Port-au-Prince International Airport in Haiti, injuring one flight attendant and damaging the aircraft. One of the planes, flying from Florida to Port-au-Prince, was hit during landing, leaving the flight attendant injured and the fuselage riddled with bullet holes. The same day, two other U.S. planes departing from the Haitian capital were also hit, sustaining damage. Following the incident, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced a suspension of U.S. airline operations in Haiti until February 2025.

(5) Russia

Oil depot in Belgorod Oblast attacked.On November 12, an oil depot in the Starooskol region of Belgorod Oblast, Russia, was attacked by a Ukrainian drone, causing a storage tank to catch fire and explode. No casualties were reported. Additionally, Russian air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 70 Ukrainian drones in Moscow Oblast and other areas that day.

(6) Brazil

Capital BrasíliaTwo explosions kill one person.On November 13, two explosive attacks occurred in Brasília, the capital of Brazil, resulting in the death of one man. That day, a suspect carried out a suicide bombing near a statue in front of the Supreme Court and died. Subsequently, a car parked near an annex building of the Chamber of Deputies exploded, causing no casualties. Preliminary police investigations indicate that the two explosions were related, and the identity of the suicide bomber remains unknown.

(7) Netherlands

Violent attack in the capital.On November 13, a violent attack took place in a square in the western part of Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands. That evening, a group of people threw fireworks, stones, and other objects in the square, causing a tram to catch fire and damaging multiple buildings. After the incident, several attackers were arrested by the police, and the investigation is still ongoing.

 

Maritime Security

(1) Red Sea

Houthis claim attack on U.S. warship.On November 12, Yahya Saree, the military spokesperson for Yemen's Houthi rebels, stated that the group had launched cruise missiles and drones at the U.S. aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln and two other destroyers in the Red Sea. In response, the U.S. stated that the aircraft carrier was not attacked, while the two destroyers were hit by missiles, with no casualties reported.
