Middle East Region

(1) Palestine and Israel

The Palestinian-Israeli conflict has resulted in over 50,000 Palestinian deaths.From April 7 to 13, the Israeli Defense Forces launched continuous attacks on the Gaza Strip, causing significant casualties. Among these, Israeli airstrikes on April 8 in areas such as Beit Lahia in northern Gaza killed 58 people, including one journalist, and injured 213. As of April 11, since the outbreak of the latest round of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, Israeli military operations in Gaza have led to 50,912 Palestinian deaths, 115,981 injuries, and thousands missing. Additionally, since Israel resumed operations in Gaza on March 18, it has blocked all humanitarian aid from entering Gaza, leaving local residents severely deprived of drinking water, food, fuel, and medicine, with living conditions drastically deteriorating.

Southern Israel attacked. Yemen's Houthi group claimed that it launched drone attacks on military targets in Tel Aviv, southern Israel, on April 7 and 10. Israel stated that all Houthi drones were successfully intercepted before entering its territory.

(2) Yemen

U.S. airstrikes kill 9, injure many.On April 8, U.S. airstrikes targeted Yemen's capital Sanaa, Ibb Province, and Hodeidah Province, killing at least 6 and injuring 16, while damaging infrastructure and communication networks. On April 9 and 11, a densely populated residential area and a military target in Sanaa were hit again by U.S. airstrikes, killing 3, injuring several, and destroying a historical site.

Houthis claim to shoot down a U.S. drone.On April 9, Yemen's Houthi group announced that it had shot down a U.S. MQ-9 drone in Al-Jawf Province using a homemade surface-to-air missile. This marks the 18th U.S. drone downed by the group since October 2023.

(3) Lebanon

One person killed in Israeli military attack in the south.On April 7, the Tayyiba area in southern Lebanon was hit by an Israeli airstrike, resulting in the death of Hezbollah artillery commander Mohammed Adnan Mansour.

(4) Turkey

20 extremist suspects arrested in Istanbul.On April 8, Turkish police launched an operation against militants of the extremist group "Islamic State" in Istanbul, arresting 20 individuals linked to the organization and seizing a quantity of weapons and ammunition.

 

Asia-Pacific Region

(1) Afghanistan

Ammunition depot explosion in Kandahar Province injures 4.On April 10, an ammunition warehouse inside the compound of the Kandahar Provincial Police Headquarters in southern Afghanistan exploded, injuring 4 guards and damaging several nearby houses. The cause of the explosion remains unknown.

(2) Pakistan     

12 militants killed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province. On April 7, Pakistani security forces conducted "Operation Thunder-2025" in the South Waziristan region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, killing 12 "Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan" militants and seizing AK-47 rifles, rocket launchers, and communication equipment.

(3) Indonesia

11 killed in attack on mining area in Papua Province. On April 7, armed militants attacked two gold mines in Yahukimo Regency, Papua Province, Indonesia, killing 11 miners, leaving 8 missing, and taking 2 civilians hostage. Another 35 fled to nearby villages for shelter. The two mining areas are now under the control of the armed group.

(4) India

Severe weather in Bihar kills 82.From April 8 to 10, northern India's Bihar State was hit by consecutive severe weather conditions including strong winds and heavy rain, resulting in 82 deaths, hundreds injured, multiple buildings collapsed, and extensive crop damage. Severe flooding also disrupted traffic in many areas.

(5) Myanmar

Strong earthquake death toll rises to 3,689.On April 11, according to a release by Myanmar's State Administration Council, the strong earthquake that struck Mandalay on March 28 has caused 3,689 deaths, 5,020 injuries, and 139 missing. Additionally, statistics show the earthquake killed 8 Chinese citizens and injured 13.

Africa Region

(1) Nigeria

Multiple attacks leave 20 dead and 16 kidnapped.According to monitoring reports from Hanwei International's security officer in West Africa and media coverage, on April 6, Morai village in the Augie Local Government Area of Kebbi State, Nigeria, was attacked by the terrorist group "Lakurawa," resulting in 16 deaths. On the same day,an armed assault occurred in Katsina State, leaving at least 2 dead and 16 abducted; on April 9,an attack took place in the Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State,killing 2 people.

(II) South Africa

Chinese businessman abducted in Eastern Cape Province.On April 8, a Chinese man was abducted on the M19 highway in Gqeberha, the capital of South Africa's Eastern Cape Province. That day, the victim's car was intercepted near the exit ramp of the M17 highway by a minivan, and three armed robbers took him away. Currently, the whereabouts of the abducted Chinese citizen remain unknown, and South African police have launched an investigation.

(III) Somalia

Mortar attack near capital's airport.On April 7, media reported that unidentified armed personnel launched mortar attacks near Aden Adde Airport in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia, on April 6, with no casualties reported. So far, no group or individual has claimed responsibility for the incident.

(IV) Democratic Republic of the Congo

Continued armed conflict in the east.From April 7 to 13, clashes persisted between the Congolese army and the rebel group "M23 Movement" across multiple locations in North Kivu, South Kivu, and Ituri provinces in the eastern part of the country, causing significant civilian casualties. The conflict alsotriggered a cholera outbreak, with 77 cases reported in just one week in the Kalehe area of South Kivu Province. Currently, international humanitarian organizations are collaborating with local authorities to contain the spread of the disease.

Attack on Chinese-owned mining site in Ituri Province injures 2 Chinese citizens.On April 7, media reported that an unidentified armed group attacked a Chinese-owned mining site in the Mambasa area of Ituri Province, Democratic Republic of the Congo, on April 6, killing 4 and injuring 2. During the incident, militants stormed the Chinese employees' camp and exchanged fire with Congolese armed forces providing security, resulting in the death of 1 Congolese soldier, injuries to 2 Chinese citizens, and 3 attackers being killed.

Boat capsizing in Equateur Province kills 22.On April 7, a boat capsized in the Congo River approximately 30 kilometers north of Mbandaka, the capital of Equateur Province in northwestern Democratic Republic of the Congo, claiming at least 22 lives. The number of passengers and the cause of the accident remain unclear, and search-and-rescue operations are ongoing.

(V) Sudan

Continued armed conflict.From April 7 to 13, clashes between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces persisted in the capitalKhartoum and surrounding central and western regions. This week,Clashes between the two sides in the western part of Omdurman and El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur State, resulted in the deaths of at least 137 civilians, including three aid volunteers, and left 76 others injured. On April 11, Jens Laerke, spokesperson for the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, stated that the two-year-long armed conflict in Sudan has plunged its people into an "unprecedented-scale humanitarian crisis." Approximately 13 million people have been displaced nationwide, 25 million face the threat of starvation, 20.3 million urgently require emergency health assistance, and 30 million are in dire need of humanitarian aid.

 

Europe and the Americas

(1) United States 

Two shooting incidents resulted in 4 deaths and 7 injuries.On April 7, a shooting occurred near South Manahattan Place in Los Angeles, California, killing one person and injuring four others. On April 8, a shooting at a residence in Spotsylvania County, northeastern Virginia, left three dead and three injured.

Two plane crashes resulted in 9 deaths and 1 injury.On April 10, a sightseeing helicopter crashed into the Hudson River in Manhattan, New York City, killing all six on board. On April 11, a small plane crashed in Boca Raton, southern Florida, resulting in the deaths of all three occupants and injuring one person on the ground.

(2) Ukraine 

Ongoing armed conflict between Russia and Ukraine.From April 7 to 13, Russia's special military operation in Ukraine continued. The Russian Ministry of Defense recently released a combat report stating that over the past week, Russian forces used high-precision guided weapons and drones to strike military targets in 149 locations, including Ukrainian military airfields, electronic warfare stations, weapon depots, and drone production facilities. In regions such as Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Luhansk, Russian forces launched multiple offensives, destroying dozens of Ukrainian armored vehicles, tanks, obstacle-clearing vehicles, nearly 100 artillery pieces, and one weapons assembly base. On the Ukrainian side, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that hundreds of battles occurred on the front lines this week, with Ukrainian forces successfully repelling multiple Russian attacks in directions such as Lyman and Pokrovsk, as well as in the Kursk region. Ukrainian air force and missile units targeted 13 areas where Russian personnel, weapons, and military equipment were concentrated, destroying two air defense systems, six artillery systems, and one ammunition depot.

(3) Ecuador

Three attacks resulted in 4 deaths.On April 7, a car bombing occurred in the northwest of Guayaquil, Ecuador, with casualties unknown; on the same day, a shooting incident in the Nueva Buena Fe area of Buena Fe, Los Ríos Province, Ecuador, resulted in the death of one woman; also on the same day, a shooting in the Pinpiguasí district of Portoviejo-Junín, Manabí Province, Ecuador, left three prison staff dead.

The capital and other areas entered a state of emergency.On April 12, Ecuadorian President Noboa issued a decree declaring a 60-day state of emergency in Guayas, Los Ríos, Manabí, Orellana, Santa Elena, El Oro, Sucumbíos, Pichincha (Quito), Azuay (Puente Enríquez), and nationwide prisons due to increased violent crimes and intensified illegal activities by armed organized groups.

(4) Haiti

Cholera outbreak claims 19 lives.On April 10, statistics from the World Health Organization and the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs showed that Haiti reported nearly 1,300 suspected and confirmed cholera cases and 19 deaths in the first three months of 2025. Most patients were displaced persons. Poor living conditions in displacement camps, lacking basic clean water and sanitation facilities, facilitated the spread of waterborne diseases like cholera. Currently, Haiti's security situation continues to deteriorate, with increasing numbers of displaced persons and ongoing cholera outbreaks.

(5) Mexico

Attack on Sinaloa rehab center leaves 9 dead, multiple injured.On April 8, unidentified gunmen attacked a drug rehabilitation center in Culiacán, the capital of Sinaloa State in northwestern Mexico, killing 9 and injuring multiple others. The assailants stormed the center and fired indiscriminately. The attack was reportedly linked to territorial disputes among drug cartels.

Armed clash in Guerrero leaves 11 dead.On April 9, a gang-related armed clash in Tecoanapa, Guerrero State, southern Mexico, resulted in 11 deaths.

(6) Russia

Multiple regions attacked by Ukrainian forcesFrom April 6 to 7, energy facilities in Russia's Bryansk, Rostov, and Voronezh regions, as well as Crimea, were attacked by Ukraine. Russian air defense forces intercepted and destroyed 11 Ukrainian drones in the Kursk, Belgorod, and Rostov regions. On April 11, Russian regions of Kursk, Rostov, and Zaporizhzhia were subjected to four airstrikes by Ukrainian forces, damaging multiple energy facilities and cutting off power to at least 400 households.

(7) Greece

An explosion occurred in Athens.On April 11, a bomb exploded near the headquarters office of Greek Railways in Athens, the capital of Greece, causing no casualties. That day, a bomb placed outside the Greek Railways headquarters office was detonated. No group or individual has claimed responsibility so far, and investigations are ongoing.

(8) Dominican Republic

Nightclub collapse in Santo Domingo leaves 221 dead and 200 injured.On April 8, the roof of a nightclub in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, collapsed, killing at least 221 people and injuring over 200. The nightclub was hosting a large event at the time. The cause of the incident is still under investigation.

Maritime Security

(1) Red Sea

Houthi forces claim two strikes on U.S. military targets.On April 7, Yemen's Houthi forces stated that they launched multiple missiles and drones at two U.S. destroyers in the Red Sea that day. On April 11, they attacked the U.S. aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman and its accompanying ships with cruise missiles and drones. The U.S. has not yet responded.

(2) Greece

Coast Guard exchanges fire with Turkish vessel.On April 12, Greece reported that a Greek Coast Guard vessel was fired upon while attempting to inspect a Turkish vessel near the island of Lesbos, close to Turkey. The Greek Coast Guard returned fire, forcing the vessel back into Turkish waters. No Greek casualties were reported. Turkey has not yet responded to the incident.
