This issue summarizes security intelligence from 2025,6,30 to 7,across global regions.According tosecurity riskassessments, regional security levelsare shown on the global risk map, with Afghanistan, Syria, Myanmar, Pakistan, Nigeria, Sudan, Ukraine, Palestine, and Israel identified as extremely high-risk zones. During this period, these regions experienced frequent security incidents such as armed conflicts and terrorist attacks.Chinese enterprises operating abroad must enhance their security precautions. Middle East Region

(1) Syria

Explosion in Hama Province kills 4 and injures 9.On July 2, an explosion occurred in the town of Jafrin, eastern Hama Province, central Syria, resulting in 4 deaths and 9 injuries. The cause of the explosion remains under investigation.

(2) Iraq

Kirkuk International Airport attack injures 1.On July 1, Kirkuk International Airport in northern Iraq was struck by three rockets, injuring one person without disrupting flight operations. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Three ISIS militants killed in Kirkuk Province. On June 30, media reported that Iraqi counterterrorism forces conducted an operation against an ISIS hideout in the mountainous area of Kirkuk Province on June 29, killing three militants. A cache of weapons, communication equipment, and logistical supplies was also seized.

(3) Palestine and Israel

Palestinian-Israeli conflict has claimed 57,300 Palestinian livesFrom June 30 to July 6, the Israeli military continued its attacks on multiple areas in the Gaza Strip, Palestine, resulting in heavy casualties. On July 1, the Israeli forces conducted consecutive bombings on several houses in Khan Younis in southern Gaza, the Al-Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza, and the Jabalia area in northern Gaza, killing at least 51 people and injuring 123. As of July 5, since the outbreak of the latest round of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Israeli military operations in Gaza have killed 57,338 Palestinians and injured 135,957.

Israel attacked by Houthi forces.On July 1, Yemen's Houthi group claimed to have launched a 'Palestine-2' hypersonic ballistic missile and three drones at Israel, targeting Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, Ashkelon in the south, and the Red Sea port city of Eilat. The Israeli military stated that it intercepted a missile from Yemen that day, with no reports of casualties.

(4) Iran

Re-closure of western and central airspace.On July 2, Majid Aghavan, spokesperson for Iran's Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, announced the re-closure of the country's western and central airspace, affecting airports including Tehran's Mehrabad Airport and Imam Khomeini International Airport. Prior to this, airports in southern and northern Iran had been closed on the 29th. Currently, only the eastern airspace remains unaffected, allowing flights to transit or operate.

(5) Lebanon

Israeli attack kills 1, injures 3.On July 3, Lebanon's southern Nabatieh Governorate was hit by an Israeli airstrike, with no immediate reports of casualties or property damage. The same day, an Israeli drone struck a moving car in the town of Haledeh near Beirut, killing one person and injuring three. The Lebanese government once again accused Israel of violating the ceasefire agreement and frequently conducting airstrikes on the country.

 

Asia-Pacific Region

(1) Pakistan

Multiple attacks leave 8 dead, 13 injured. On June 30, media reported that a grenade attack on a checkpoint in Swat, Pakistan on June 29 injured three police officers. On July 1, a shooting in Lakki Marwat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killed three people. On July 2, a roadside bomb attack on a government bus in Bajaur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killed five, including a regional assistant commissioner and two police officers, and injured 10. No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the explosion.

(2) Australia

Two attacks leave two injuredOn June 30, media reported that a Chinese female international student was injured in an attack by a stranger in the parking lot of Maroubra Pacific Square in Sydney, Australia, on June 29. Local police have launched an investigation into the incident. On July 2, multiple gas stations in Melbourne, Victoria, were attacked, with no casualties reported. Police are currently searching for suspects.

(3) India

Chemical plant explosion in Telangana kills 42.On June 30, an explosion and subsequent fire at a chemical plant in Telangana, southern India, resulted in 42 deaths and left many others missing. At the time of the explosion, 143 people were working inside the plant. Rescue efforts are ongoing, and the cause of the accident remains unknown.

Africa

(1) Nigeria

Sokoto State attack leaves 20 deadAccording to monitoring reports from Hanwei International's West Africa security officer and media coverage, on July 2,the village of Kwarangiya in the Tangaza Local Government Area of Sokoto State, Nigeria, wasattackedby armed militants, resulting in20deaths.On the same day,because villagersrefusedintermarriage,the terrorist groupRakulawa militantsretaliated against the villagers, settingfireto houses,andshooting villagers.

(2) South Africa

The Chinese Embassy in South Africa issued a safety reminder.On July 1, the Chinese Embassy in South Africa issued a safety reminder: The security situation in South Africa has continued to deteriorate recently, with several cases of Chinese citizens being kidnapped. The embassy advised Chinese tourists traveling to South Africa to choose reputable hotels and arrange their trips properly, avoid going out during high-crime periods such as at night, and refrain from visiting or passing through areas with poor security. Currently, it is winter in South Africa, with frequent extreme weather conditions such as heavy rain, strong winds, and snowfall. Multiple natural disasters have occurred in provinces including the Eastern Cape, Western Cape, and KwaZulu-Natal. The embassy urged compatriots in South Africa to avoid disaster-affected areas and exercise caution when participating in high-risk tourism activities such as water-related, high-altitude, high-speed, or mountain hiking projects. In case of unlawful infringement or emergencies, they should promptly report to the South African police and seek assistance from the Chinese Embassy or consulates in South Africa.

(3) Mali

Military camps in the central and western regions were attacked by armed groups.On July 1, armed militants almost simultaneously launched attacks on military camps and nearby civilians in the western and central regions, causing casualties, with the exact numbers unknown. After the attacks, the Malian armed forces engaged in clashes with the militants in multiple locations, killing 80 militants and injuring many others. Currently, an extremist group linked to the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda has claimed responsibility for this round of 'coordinated' multi-point attacks.

(4) Democratic Republic of the Congo

Chinese-owned company in South Kivu Province was occupied.On June 30, the Chinese-owned Twangiza Mining company in the Mwenga area of South Kivu Province, Democratic Republic of the Congo, was occupied by M23 rebel forces, who forced it to suspend operations citing unpaid taxes. After entering the mining area, the militants also broke into the company's safe and stole a large number of valuable items.

(5) Sudan

Armed conflicts continue.From June 30 to July 6, the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces continued to engage in clashes across multiple regions of Sudan. During the week, the conflict primarily intensified in the Kordofan region and the Blue Nile State bordering South Sudan. In the clashes, a livestock market and several residential areas in the capital city of El Fasher were shelled, resulting in at least 13 civilian deaths and multiple injuries. The ongoing armed conflict, which has lasted over two years, has exacerbated the humanitarian crisis. On July 1, the United Nations World Food Programme warned that since the outbreak of the Sudanese armed conflict in April 2023, approximately 4 million Sudanese refugees have fled to neighboring countries, with millions facing severe risks of famine and malnutrition. On July 3, the international charity Save the Children issued a statement revealing that the World Health Organization's Surveillance System for Attacks on Health Care recorded at least 38 attacks on healthcare facilities in Sudan during the first half of 2025, resulting in 933 deaths, including children, and over 148 injuries.

(6) Somalia

AU military aircraft crash in Mogadishu kills 3.On July 2, an AU military helicopter on a peacekeeping mission crashed at Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia, killing at least 3 people. The cause of the crash remains unknown.

 

Europe and the Americas

(1) United States 

3 shootings leave 6 dead and 32 injured.On July 2, a mass shooting occurred in downtown Chicago, USA, killing at least 4 and injuring 14. That evening, shortly after the conclusion of a new album release event for a rapper, multiple gunmen fired into a crowd from a speeding car, causing numerous casualties among young people. The suspects remain at large, and the motive is under investigation. On July 5, a shooting at a bar in southern Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, injured at least 11 people. The same day, another shooting in Indianapolis, Indiana, left 2 dead and at least 7 injured. According to statistics from the U.S. "Gun Violence Archive" website, as of July 5, gun violence in the U.S. this year has resulted in 7,407 deaths and 13,325 injuries.

(2) Ukraine 

Ongoing armed conflict between Russia and Ukraine.From June 30 to July 6, Russia's special military operation in Ukraine continued. The Russian Ministry of Defense recently released a combat report stating that over the past week, the Russian military conducted five large-scale airstrikes using long-range precision-guided weapons such as ground-based 'Kinzhal' hypersonic missiles and long-range attack drones, targeting Ukrainian drone R&D and production facilities, military airfields, refineries, and other military and power infrastructure. They destroyed facilities of Ukraine's military-industrial complex, control systems, radar stations, ammunition and supply depots, drone production workshops, unmanned boat storage sites, and temporary deployment points of Ukrainian forces. Russian air defense systems intercepted and shot down 17 air defense bombs, hundreds of rockets, and nearly a thousand drones. Multiple unmanned speedboats were destroyed in the Black Sea waters. The Russian forces gained control of two settlements in Donetsk and the entire territory of Luhansk Oblast. On the Ukrainian side, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that during the week, the Ukrainian Air Force, missile troops, and artillery units struck concentrations of Russian personnel, weapons, and military equipment. They repelled Russian offensives on multiple fronts and destroyed Russian tanks, armored combat vehicles, artillery systems, and other equipment. The Ukrainian forces also destroyed the command post of the Russian Naval Infantry in the town of Korenevo in Kursk Oblast and thwarted attempts by Russian infantry and reconnaissance squads to enter Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

(3) Mexico

Violent attack in Sinaloa leaves 20 dead.On June 30, a violent attack occurred in Culiacán, the capital of Sinaloa in northwestern Mexico, resulting in 20 deaths. Police investigations revealed that the attack was linked to factional violence among local drug cartels.

(4) Ecuador

Multiple attacks leave 1 dead, 2 injured, and 1 kidnapped.On June 30, a teacher in Ecuador was kidnapped from their home in the Horizontes del Fortín area, northwest of Guayaquil, the capital of Guayas Province. The kidnappers demanded a ransom of $50,000 from the victim's family. On the same day, a shooting occurred on D Street in the Patria Nueva area of El Guabo Canton, El Oro Province, leaving one person injured. On July 1, another shooting took place on Los Ángeles Avenue in the Trinitaria Island area of southern Guayaquil, resulting in one death and one injury.

(5) Russia

Ukrainian drone attack leaves 3 dead and 36 injured.On July 1, a Ukrainian drone attack targeted an enterprise in Izhevsk, the capital of Russia's Udmurt Republic in central Russia, resulting in 3 deaths and 35 injuries, with 10 in serious condition. On July 4, Ukrainian drone strikes hit power facilities and residential areas in Moscow Oblast, Russia, causing 1 injury and damage to a substation.

(6) Germany

Attack in Bavaria leaves 1 dead and 2 injured.On July 1, an attack occurred at an enterprise in Mellrichstadt, Lower Franconia, Bavaria, Germany, leaving 1 dead and 2 seriously injured. Police reported that the assailant used a "sharp object" to attack several employees. The suspect has been arrested.

(7) Finland

Knife attack in Tampere injures 4.On July 3, a stabbing incident at a shopping center in Tampere, southern Finland, injured 4 people. The suspect has been arrested by police.

 

Maritime Safety

(1) Indonesia 

Ferry sinking in Bali Strait leaves 6 dead and 24 missing.On July 3, the Indonesian passenger ferry "Tunu Pratama Jaya" sank in the Bali Strait, resulting in 6 deaths and 24 missing, with no Chinese citizens involved. The vessel carried 53 passengers, 12 crew members, and 22 vehicles, with 35 rescued. Search and rescue efforts for the missing continue.

(2) Red Sea

Barge capsizes in Suez Gulf,4 dead 6 missingOn July 2,the barge "Adam Marine 12," owned by Egypt's "Shuhair Marine Petroleum Company," capsized in the Suez Gulf of the Red Searesulting in4 deaths, 6 missing, and 21 rescued. Rescue operations are ongoing, and the cause is under investigation.
