This issue summarizes the security intelligence information from2025428to54across various regions worldwide.According tosecurity riskassessments, the security levels of each regionare as shown on the global risk map, with Afghanistan, Syria, Myanmar, Pakistan, Nigeria, Sudan, Ukraine, Palestine, Israel, and other regions being extremely high-risk areas. During this period, these regions experienced frequent security incidents such as armed conflicts and terrorist attacks.Chinese enterprises operating abroad need to enhance their security precautions. Middle East Region

(I) Syria

Armed conflict results in 100 deaths.On April 28 and 29, armed conflicts occurred near the capital Damascus and in the southern Suwayda Governorate of Syria, resulting in at least 100 deaths. On the 28th, a recording containing blasphemous religious content circulated on social media, attributed to a Druze individual. In response, armed personnel from the Eastern Ghouta area of Damascus entered the suburbs of Jaramana and Sahnaya on the night of the 28th, clashing with local armed groups, leading to the deaths of 30 Syrian security force members and 15 Druze militants. In the southern Suwayda Governorate, at least 27 Druze militants were killed.

Israeli airstrikes cause 6 deaths and 4 injuries.On April 30, the suburbs of Ashrafieh Sahnaya in Damascus, Syria, were targeted by Israeli airstrikes, with no immediate reports of casualties. On May 2, areas near the presidential palace in Damascus, the central Hama Governorate, and the town of Kanaker in the southern Suwayda Governorate were again struck by Israeli airstrikes, resulting in at least 5 civilian deaths and 4 injuries, with severe damage to some buildings. In the early hours of May 3, the Harasta suburb of Damascus was hit by an Israeli airstrike, killing one person. UN Secretary-General António Guterres condemned Israel's violation of Syria's sovereignty, urging Israel to respect Syria's sovereignty, independence, unity, and territorial integrity and to cease its attacks.

(II) Palestine and Israel

Palestinian-Israeli conflict has claimed 52,418 Palestinian lives.From April 28 to May 4, the Israeli military continued its attacks on the Gaza Strip, causing significant casualties. As of May 2, since the outbreak of the latest round of Palestinian-Israeli conflict, Israeli military operations in Gaza have resulted in 52,418 Palestinian deaths and 118,091 injuries. Among the victims, 18,000 were children, 12,400 were women, 1,400 were medical personnel, 212 were journalists, and approximately 750 were aid workers.

Haifa, Israel, was attacked by Houthi forces.On May 2, Haifa in northern Israel was hit by a hypersonic missile from Yemen's Houthi forces, with no casualties or property damage reported.

(4) Yemen

U.S. airstrikes result in over 100 casualties.On April 28, a detention center in Saada Governorate, northern Yemen, holding 115 illegal immigrants, was struck by three U.S. missiles, killing at least 68 and injuring 47, with one building reduced to rubble. On April 29, multiple locations in Yemen were again targeted by joint U.S.-UK airstrikes, though casualties and property damage remain unconfirmed. On May 3, 12 U.S. airstrikes hit the governorates of Al Jawf, Amran, and Sanaa.

(5) Lebanon

Southern suburbs of Beirut hit by Israeli airstrikes.On April 28, media reported that the southern suburbs of Beirut, Lebanon, were struck by three Israeli missiles on April 27, damaging a warehouse, several vehicles, and surrounding buildings, with no casualties reported. The Israeli military stated the targets were Hezbollah missile storage facilities and infrastructure. Lebanese President Aoun called on the UN and international community to halt Israeli aggression, enforce UN Security Council Resolution 1701, and pressure Israel to withdraw from five positions in southern Lebanon.

(6) Iran

Death toll rises to 70 in southern port explosion.On April 29, Iran's Hormozgan Province crisis management department reported that the April 26 explosion at Shahid Rajaee Port in southern Iran had killed 70 and injured over 1,200 by that date. The cause remains under investigation.

 


Asia-Pacific Region

(1) Pakistan

Bomb blast in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa kills 7, injures 17.On April 28, a bomb attack in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northwestern Pakistan, killed at least 7 and injured 17, collapsing several buildings. Police said an improvised remote-controlled bomb was planted in the office of a peace committee leader in South Waziristan and later detonated. No group or individual has claimed responsibility.

54 militants killed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.On April 28, media reported that Pakistani security forces clashed with militants infiltrating from Afghanistan in North Waziristan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on April 27, killing 54 militants and seizing weapons, ammunition, and explosives.

(2) India

Continued cross-border firing along the India-Pakistan Line of Control.From April 28 to May 1, India and Pakistan engaged in sustained cross-border firing along the Kiani and Mandal sectors of the Line of Control (LoC), with no immediate reports of casualties. Pakistan claimed that Indian forces used light weapons to fire at Pakistani positions, prompting retaliatory strikes that destroyed several Indian outposts. In response, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi authorized the military on April 29 to decide the "method, target, and timing" of retaliation for the shootings in Indian-administered Kashmir. Additionally, India closed its airspace to all Pakistani flights from April 30 to May 23.

Stampede in Goa leaves 6 dead.On May 3, a stampede at a temple in Goa, western India, resulted in at least 6 deaths and dozens of injuries. The incident occurred during an annual religious festival attended by thousands. The Goa state government stated that an investigation into the cause would be conducted promptly.

(III) Philippines

Armed clash in Negros Occidental kills 7.On April 28, media reported that the Philippine military clashed with the rebel group "New People's Army" in Negros Occidental on April 27, killing 7 rebels and seizing weapons. No casualties were reported among government forces.

Vehicle collision at capital airport leaves 2 dead, multiple injured5May 4, a vehicle broke through a barrier and crashed into pedestrians outside Terminal 1 of Ninoy ·Aquino International Airport in Manila, Philippines, killing 2 and injuring several others.The deceased included an adult male and a 4-year-old girl.Currently, police have detained the driver and are investigating the cause.

(IV) South Korea

Attack in North Chungcheong Province injures 6.On April 28, a high school student armed with a weapon attacked others at a school in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province, injuring 6 people, 3 of them seriously. Further details were not immediately reported.

 

Africa Region

(1) Nigeria

Multiple attacks leave 22 dead and many injured.On April 28, an armed attack in the Gwoza area of Borno State, Nigeria, resulted in the deaths of 10 civilians and 2 security officials, with 2 others injured. On the same day, the village of Kopre in the Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State was attacked by suspected Boko Haram militants, leaving 10 dead and multiple others injured.

(2) South Africa

Fire breaks out in Cape Town's Table Mountain National Park.On April 27, a fire erupted in Cape Town's Table Mountain National Park and spread to the southern suburb of Tokai, forcing the evacuation of at least 198 households. Currently,the wildfire has been contained, and Table Mountain National Park is temporarily closed while the cause of the fire is under investigation.

(3) Kenya

Attack in Mandera County leaves 5 dead and 2 injured. On April 29, an armed robbery in Bur Abor village, Mandera County, northeastern Kenya, resulted in 5 deaths and 2 injuries. That day, a minibus carrying quarry workers was intercepted by armed assailants. After surrendering their phones, wallets, and IDs as demanded, the workers were shot by the attackers, leading to multiple casualties.

(4) Sudan

Armed conflict continues.From April 28 to May 4, clashes persisted between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces in the capital Khartoum, as well as in northern, central, and western regions of the country. Notably, large-scale clashes occurred on April 29 and May 3 in Omdurman, part of the capital region, and in Damer, the capital of the Northern Nile State, resulting in at least 341 civilian deaths and over 100 injuries. The ongoing conflict, which has lasted over two years, has claimed nearly 30,000 lives in Sudan and displaced over 12.9 million people.

 

Europe and America Region

(1) United States 

Shooting in South Carolina leaves 1 dead and 11 injured.On April 28, a shooting in the tourist town of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, left 1 dead and 11 injured. According to the latest statistics from the U.S. Gun Violence Archive, as of April 30 local time, the country has witnessed 88 mass shootings (with 4 or more casualties) this year, and 377 minors under 17 have died due to gun violence.

Traffic accident in Idaho kills 5 Chinese citizens and injures 8.On May 1, a traffic accident occurred 26 kilometers west of Yellowstone National Park in Idaho, resulting in the deaths of 5 Chinese citizens and injuries to 8 others. A pickup truck collided with a van carrying multiple Chinese tourists, causing the vehicles to catch fire. The cause of the accident is under investigation.

(2) Ukraine 

Russia-Ukraine armed conflict continues.From April 28 to May 4, Russia's special military operation in Ukraine continued. The Russian Ministry of Defense recently reported that over the past week, the Russian military effectively struck 162 regional targets, including Ukrainian military airport infrastructure, drone production workshops, unmanned boat assembly areas, ammunition depots, and temporary deployment points for Ukrainian forces and foreign mercenaries, using high-precision weapons and drones. They repelled multiple Ukrainian offensives and launched several attacks in the Sumy, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson directions, destroying dozens of armored vehicles, cars, and artillery pieces. The Russian forces also took control of the Kamianka settlement in Kharkiv and shot down 8 'Storm Shadow' cruise missiles, 3 Ukrainian 'Neptune-MD' guided missiles, and 14 Ukrainian unmanned boats in the Black Sea waters. On the Ukrainian side, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that during the week, Ukrainian forces repelled multiple Russian attacks in the Kharkiv, Kupiansk, and Pokrovsk directions, destroying several Russian tanks, armored vehicles, 31 artillery systems, and 105 cars. Additionally, the Ukrainian Air Force, missile troops, and artillery struck 2 Russian personnel, weapon, and military equipment concentration areas, 4 Russian command posts, and 3 artillery systems.

(3) Sweden

Uppsala shooting leaves 3 dead and multiple injured,On April 29, a shooting occurred in central Uppsala, Sweden, resulting in 3 deaths and multiple injuries, with the assailant still at large. Police have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation.

(4) Russia

 Bryansk Oblast attack leaves 1 dead and 1 injured. On April 28, multiple facilities in Russia's Bryansk Oblast, including a microelectronics factory, were attacked by Ukrainian drones, killing 1 person and injuring another, with damage to some civilian and infrastructure facilities.

(5) Germany

Stuttgart car ramming incident leaves 1 dead and 7 injured.On May 2, a car plowed into pedestrians in downtown Stuttgart, southwestern Germany, killing 1 person and injuring 8. The driver involved has been arrested, and an investigation is ongoing.

Maritime Security

(1) Red Sea

  US aircraft carrier attacked by Houthi forces.On April 28, the US Navy's 'Truman' carrier strike group in the Red Sea was attacked by missiles and drones from Yemen's Houthi forces, injuring 1 person. The US military stated that the 'Truman' carrier evaded the Houthi attack that day, resulting in an F/A-18E 'Super Hornet' fighter jet and a deck tractor falling overboard, injuring 1 sailor.
