This issue summarizes the dynamics of security intelligence information in various regions around the world from March 3rd to 9th, 2025. According to the security risk assessment, the security levels of various regions are as shown on the global risk map. Afghanistan, Syria, Myanmar, Pakistan, Nigeria, Sudan, Ukraine, Palestine, Israel and other regions are classified as extremely high-risk areas. During this period, armed conflicts, terrorist attacks and other security incidents occurred frequently in these regions. Chinese-funded enterprises stationed abroad need to enhance their own security precautions. This information is only for internal risk assessment purposes of our company.
The Middle East region
(1) Syria
Many places have been hit by Israeli air strikes. On March 3rd, the port of Tartus in Tartus Province and the town of Kaldaha in Latakia Province in western Syria were hit by Israeli air strikes. So far, there have been no reports of casualties. The Israeli military said that the targets of the air strikes included a radar station, an ammunition depot and a berth near the port of Tartus of the Syrian military.
Security forces in Latakia Province were attacked, resulting in 81 deaths and multiple injuries. On March 6th, security force checkpoints and patrol teams in Latakia Province in western Syria were attacked by local armed groups loyal to the former regime, resulting in 81 deaths and dozens of injuries. The deceased included 35 government security personnel, 4 civilians and 32 armed personnel. On March 7th, the Syrian interim government announced the launch of a large-scale security operation targeting the "remnants" of the former regime in the western provinces of Tartus and Latakia. Currently, curfews have been imposed in some areas of the two provinces.
(2) Palestine and Israel
The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has claimed 48,405 lives in Palestine. On March 4th, the health department of the Gaza Strip in Palestine issued a statement saying that since the outbreak of the new round of the Palestine-Israel conflict, the military operations of the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip have caused 48,405 Palestinian deaths and 111,835 injuries. The conflict has also led to the damage of infrastructure such as transportation, energy, communication, medical care and water conservancy in the Gaza Strip, and the people of Gaza are facing a serious crisis of their living environment.
The knife attack in Haifa City left two people dead and four injured. On March 3rd, a knife attack occurred in Haifa, a city in northern Israel, resulting in 2 deaths and 4 injuries. The attacker was shot dead on the spot by the police. At present, the identity of the attacker is unknown and the police are conducting further investigations.
(3) Lebanon
One person was killed in an attack by the Israeli army in the south. On March 8th, a car was attacked by an Israeli drone in the suburbs of Suwane in southern Lebanon, resulting in one death. The Israel Defense Forces later issued a statement saying that it had carried out a drone strike in the southern region of Lebanon, targeting a member of Hezbollah in Lebanon. Previously, on March 6, the Lebanese military issued a statement warning Israel not to escalate military operations, otherwise it would take necessary measures with the Committee Monitoring the Ceasefire Agreement and UNIFIL. The statement said that Israel continues to occupy Lebanese territory and continues to infringe upon Lebanon's sovereignty through land, sea and air, launching a series of attacks on civilians in the southern and eastern Bekaa regions of Lebanon. The above-mentioned actions are in complete violation of the ceasefire agreement and seriously threaten the security and stability of Lebanon.
(4) Yemen
A US military drone was shot down in Hodeidah Province. On March 4th, the Houthi armed group in Yemen said that it had shot down a US MQ-9 Reaper drone over Hodeidah Province on that day. This is the 15th US military drone shot down since the Gaza conflict broke out in October 2023.
(V) Iran
A fire at a military facility in the capital resulted in one death and ten injuries. On March 6th, a fire and explosion broke out at a military facility northeast of Tehran, the capital of Iran, resulting in the death of one soldier and the injury of ten firefighters. The fire department said that the cause of the explosion was that the facility had kept its doors and Windows tightly closed for a long time, resulting in the retention of heat and steam. An explosion occurred when the fire brigade opened the doors and Windows.
The Asia-Pacific region
(1) Afghanistan
Armed conflict broke out on the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan. On February 3rd, armed conflicts broke out between the Afghan Taliban and the Pakistani border guards at the Torhamgat border crossing. There have been no reports of deaths so far. The conflict originated from the attempt by the Afghan Taliban to establish a security post along the border "Duran Line", which was blocked by the Pakistani side.

On that day, armed men drove two vehicles filled with explosives and attempted to break into the military camp before exchanging fire with the security forces. During this period, a terrorist detonated explosives on a vehicle near a military camp, causing a mosque and surrounding residences to collapse. After the incident, the branch of the terrorist organization "Pakistani Taliban", "Hafez Gul Bahadur", claimed responsibility for the attack.
(3) Kazakhstan
A hostage-taking incident occurred at Almaty Airport. On March 7th, a hostage-taking incident occurred at Almaty International Airport in Kazakhstan. That morning, a man hijacked a female security inspector in the security inspection area. The police arrived at the scene and negotiated with the suspect. During the standoff, a man proposed to replace the hostage with himself. Later, he snatched the knife from the suspect's hand and, together with the security personnel, subdued the suspect. At present, the police are conducting a further investigation into the incident.
(4) South Korea
A joint military exercise between South Korea and the United States was mistakenly bombed, leaving 15 people injured. On March 6th, during a joint military exercise between the South Korean Air Force and the US military in Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province, a bomb accidentally landed in a residential area, injuring 15 people and damaging 8 nearby buildings including residences and churches as well as multiple vehicles. On that day, two Air Force KF-16 fighter jets each dropped four MK-82 bombs during a joint shooting exercise. All eight bombs landed in the residential area and exploded. It is reported that the cause of the accidental explosion was a mistake in the pilot's coordinate input.

The African region
(1) Nigeria
Multiple armed attacks and kidnappings have led to the kidnapping of 10 people. According to the monitoring report of the security officer of Hanwei International in West Africa and media reports, on March 1st, a car was attacked by six armed kidnappers along the Orokam Highway in Benue State. Soldiers from the nearby checkpoint arrived in time and exchanged fire with them. The kidnappers fled to the jungle. On March 2nd, a car was attacked again on this section of the road, and four passengers and one driver were kidnapped. On the same day, Dusinma Federal University in Kazina State was attacked by armed kidnappers, and four students were kidnapped. On March 4th, a senior police officer was kidnapped on the Abuja - Kaduna Highway. On March 5th, a car was attacked by armed bandits on a road near the town of Otu in Benue State. The bandits were repelled by security forces.
Safety warning. According to the monitoring report of the Security Officer of Hanwei International in West Africa on March 7th, a gang in Zamfarah State, Nigeria, plans to kidnap foreign citizens who have settled or worked in the local government districts of Gusau, the state capital, in the near future. Chinese citizens in this area are requested to evacuate in a timely manner, pay attention to safety and reduce travel.
(2) South Africa
A traffic accident in the Free State Province has resulted in 10 deaths and 20 injuries. On March 5th, a collision between a bus and a truck occurred on the road between Redesburg and Smithfield in the Free State Province of central South Africa, resulting in 10 deaths and over 20 injuries. At present, the cause of the accident is under investigation.
(3) South Sudan
A UN helicopter strike left 27 people dead and 2 injured. On March 7th, two UN helicopters on a rescue mission in Nasir County, Upper Nile State, South Sudan, were hit by artillery fire, resulting in 27 deaths and 2 serious injuries, including a general of the South Sudan People's Defense Forces and several UN personnel. On that day, at the request of the South Sudanese government, the United Nations Mission in South Sudan dispatched two helicopters to Nasir County to evacuate the trapped South Sudanese soldiers. During this period, two aircraft were attacked by artillery fire, one crashed and the other was damaged. Nicholas Heissom, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, strongly condemned the attack and called on all parties to the conflict to resolve tensions through dialogue and prevent the conflict from spreading beyond Nasir County.

(4) Democratic Republic of the Congo
Armed conflicts continue in the east. From March 3rd to 9th, the government forces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the anti-government armed group "M23 Movement" engaged in continuous exchanges of fire in multiple urban areas of North Kivu and South Kivu provinces in the eastern part of the country, resulting in tens of thousands of casualties and hundreds of thousands of people being displaced. In the war zone, robberies, violent attacks and human rights violations occur from time to time, humanitarian aid is blocked, and the security situation in the east continues to deteriorate.
Protests in Kolwezi have sparked riots. On March 3rd, protests broke out in Kolwezi, the capital of Lualaba Province in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, demanding that the local government not close the mineral procurement warehouse and the Tshiala deposit. The protest sparked riots. Protesters burned tires, set up roadblocks and clashed fiercely with the police maintaining order on the streets of the city center. Traffic between the city center of Kolwezi and the Luilu area was once disrupted.
(V) Sudan
Armed conflicts continue. From March 3rd to 9th, the Sudanese armed forces and the Rapid Support Force continued to engage in ongoing exchanges of fire in the capital Khartoum and on multiple fronts in central China, resulting in a large number of casualties. On March 4th, the Fahir Abushuk refugee camp in the capital of North Darfur State and the market in Ntuman were shelled by the Sudan Rapid Support Force, resulting in 94 deaths and 178 injuries. As of now, the conflict has cumulatively caused more than 30,000 deaths in Sudan.
Europe and America
(1) The United States
Two shooting incidents resulted in two deaths and one injury. On March 3rd, a shooting incident occurred in Durham, North Carolina, USA, resulting in one death. On March 7th, two police officers in New Jersey were shot while on duty, resulting in one death and one injury. At present, the attacker is at large.
(2) Ukraine
The armed conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues. From March 3rd to 9th, Russia's special military operation in Ukraine continued. The Russian Ministry of Defense recently released a battle report stating that in the past week, the Russian army has carried out cluster strikes on Ukraine's natural gas energy facilities using high-precision long-range weapons and drones based on air, sea and land. Repelled multiple attacks by the Ukrainian army in Kharkiv, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson and other directions and launched several offensives, destroying dozens of tanks, armored vehicles, self-propelled artillery and other weapons and equipment. Hundreds of drones, two aviation bombs and six "Jedam" aviation guided bombs were intercepted and shot down in multiple locations. It has taken control of the settlement of Privolnoye in Donetsk and continues to strike Ukrainian military targets in the Kursk region. (6) Russia
Three people were injured in a shooting incident at a shopping center in Medisi City. On March 3rd, a shooting incident occurred at a shopping center in Medhi, Moscow Oblast, Russia, leaving three people injured. On that day, a man got into a conflict with a security guard and opened fire, leaving the security guard and two customers injured. At present, the attacker has been detained and relevant investigations are underway.

(7) Germany
A vehicle rammed into a crowd in Mannheim, resulting in two deaths and multiple injuries. On March 3rd, a vehicle rammed into a crowd in Mannheim, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany, resulting in two deaths and several serious injuries. On that day, a sport utility vehicle deliberately rammed into a crowd in the city center, causing more than ten casualties. At present, the suspect has been arrested by the police and the relevant investigation is underway.
(8) Canada
A shooting incident at a bar in Toronto left 12 people injured. On March 7th, a shooting incident occurred at a bar in Toronto, Canada, leaving 12 people injured. The police said that the suspect wearing a mask shot at customers in the bar continuously that day and then fled in a vehicle.
