This issue summarizes the security intelligence dynamics across various global regions from March 31 to April 6, 2025. According to security risk assessments, the security levels of each region are as shown on the global risk map, with Afghanistan, Syria, Myanmar, Pakistan, Nigeria, Sudan, Ukraine, Palestine, Israel, and other areas being classified as extremely high-risk zones. During this period, frequent security incidents such as armed conflicts and terrorist attacks occurred in these regions, requiring overseas Chinese enterprises to enhance their security precautions. Middle East

(1) Syria

Israeli airstrikes across multiple locations result in 14 deaths and numerous injuries.On April 2, Israeli airstrikes targeted the Scientific Research Center in the Barzeh area of Damascus, the Hama Military Airport in Hama Province, and the T-4 Airbase in Homs Province, killing at least 4 people and injuring many others. On April 3, an Israeli military raid on the town of Nawa in Daraa Province, southern Syria, left at least 10 dead. That same day, dozens of Israeli military vehicles clashed with local armed groups in Nawa, resulting in the deaths of 10 local fighters and injuries to several Israeli soldiers.

(2) Palestine and Israel

Palestinian-Israeli conflict has claimed over 50,000 Palestinian lives.From March 31 to April 6, the Israeli military continued its attacks on the Gaza Strip in Palestine. As of April 4, the latest round of Palestinian-Israeli conflict has caused 50,609 Palestinian deaths, 115,063 injuries, and thousands missing. Since the Israeli military violated the ceasefire agreement and resumed operations on March 18, 1,249 Palestinians have been killed and 3,022 injured.

(3) Yemen

U.S. airstrikes kill 6 and injure 7.From March 31 to April 3, the Houthi-controlled capital Sanaa and provinces such as Hodeidah, Hajjah, and Saada were repeatedly targeted by U.S. airstrikes, killing 6 and injuring 7, including one child. According to Houthi statistics, between March 15 and April 3, the U.S. conducted over 200 airstrikes on Yemen, resulting in 65 deaths and more than 140 injuries.

(4) Lebanon

Israeli airstrike on Beirut kills 3 and injures 7.On April 1, an Israeli airstrike hit a building in the southern suburbs of Beirut, Lebanon, killing 3 and injuring 7. The Israeli Defense Forces claimed responsibility for the attack, stating it targeted the residence of a Hezbollah member in the Dahieh area of southern Beirut.

Asia-Pacific Region

(1) Pakistan

2 attacks resulted in 2 deaths and 6 injuries. On March 31, a border force vehicle was attacked by an improvised explosive device in the Orakzai tribal district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing 2 border force personnel and injuring 5 others. On the same day, a police officer was shot by a drug trafficking gang in the Kotkay Khatta area of Manshera, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulting in injuries to the officer.

(II) Myanmar

Strong earthquake has claimed 3,471 lives.On April 5, according to the latest statistics released by the News and Information Team of Myanmar's State Administration Council, the powerful earthquake had caused 3,471 deaths, 4,167 injuries, and 214 missing persons in the country as of that day. The earthquake also destroyed 21,783 residential buildings, 805 office buildings, 1,041 school buildings, 150 pagodas, and 48 hospitals. Additionally, statistics show that the earthquake resulted in 5 deaths and 13 injuries among Chinese citizens.

(III) India

Firecracker warehouse explosion in Gujarat kills 21 and injures 6.On April 1, a firecracker warehouse in Disa town, Gujarat, western India, exploded and triggered a massive fire, killing 21 people and injuring 6 others, with multiple buildings damaged. Preliminary investigations revealed that the warehouse was illegally manufacturing and storing firecrackers. The warehouse owner has been arrested by the police.

Africa Region

(I) Nigeria

Multiple attacks result in 56 deaths and 14 kidnappings.According to the monitoring report by the West Africa Security Officer of Hanwei International, armed attacks and kidnappings occurred in Benue State on March 30 and 31, resulting in 1 death and 2 kidnappings. In response, local residents held protests on April 1, demanding government action to prevent similar incidents. On April 2, unidentified armed men attacked the Bokkos area of Plateau State in central Nigeria, killing at least 52 people and injuring many others, with several houses burned down. On April 3, a bus was attacked by armed bandits in Otukpo Ikobi village, Niger State, leaving 2 dead and 12 kidnapped. On April 4, the Otubi Dam near Otukpo in Benue State was attacked by suspected herdsmen, resulting in 1 death. To prevent further attacks, a curfew from 6 PM to 6 AM has been imposed in the Adoka-Oweto, Oginebe-Igah Okpaya, and Ugbokpo-Ojantele areas of Benue State starting April 4, with no specified end date.

Security Alert. According to the monitoring report of Hanwei International's security officer in West Africa and media reports, on April 4, an attack involving a Chinese company occurred in the Isuikwuato Local Government Area of Abia State. On that day, a convoy of Huacheng Mining was ambushed by armed militants while heading to the mining area in Agukwu Amaya, Ndundu Community, Isuikwuato Local Government Area, Abia State, resulting in the deaths of 2 Chinese nationals and 1 black police officer, injuries to 1 Chinese national and 1 black police officer, and the disappearance of 1 black police officer. After the incident, Nigerian national security forces responded swiftly and rescued 5 individuals, including 2 injured and 3 unharmed Chinese nationals. The incident is currently under investigation. Special reminders are issued to all Chinese enterprises and individuals in Nigeria to closely monitor the security dynamics around camps, residences, and living areas, enhance identification and detection of unfamiliar vehicles and personnel entering work and living zones, minimize outings, avoid nighttime or solo travel, refrain from visiting remote or sparsely populated areas, and steer clear of gatherings, protests, and other activities. Do not travel to areas frequently targeted by terrorists.

(2) South Africa

Five robbery suspects killed in KwaZulu-Natal Province.On April 3, South African police engaged in a firefight with multiple suspects allegedly involved in a cash-in-transit robbery near Chesterville, KwaZulu-Natal Province, resulting in the deaths of 5 suspects, including one ringleader, and the seizure of firearms and ammunition. Police are currently pursuing other suspects.

(3) Niger

Oil pipeline in Tahoua Region attacked again.On April 1, the Niger-Benin oil pipeline, funded by CNPC in Birni-N'Konni town, Tahoua Region, Niger, was attacked by unidentified armed personnel, causing an explosion and fire. No casualties were reported. No group has claimed responsibility for the incident.

(4) Somalia

U.S. military airstrikes target terrorist hideout. On March 31, the U.S. military deployed fighter jets to bomb an ISIS terrorist hideout southeast of Syssaso, Puntland, Somalia, killing and injuring multiple militants.

(5) Democratic Republic of the Congo

Ongoing armed conflict in the east.From March 31 to April 6, clashes continued between the Congolese army and the rebel group "M23 Movement" in multiple locations in North Kivu, South Kivu, and Ituri Provinces in the eastern part of the country, causing significant civilian casualties. On April 2, the "M23 Movement" engaged in a firefight with the Wazalendo militia in the central area of Walikale, North Kivu Province, resulting in the deaths of 8 civilians and injuries to many others.

Chinese Embassy in the Democratic Republic of the Congo issues security alertRecently, the tense situation in the eastern region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has escalated sharply, with the "M23 Movement" launching continuous offensives in areas such as North Kivu and South Kivu provinces. The conflict has resulted in a large number of civilian casualties and displacements. In response, the Chinese Embassy in the DRC reminds all Chinese citizens in the country to enhance security precautions and avoid traveling to high-risk areas such as Ituri, North Kivu, South Kivu, and Haut-Uele provinces. Chinese citizens and enterprises still in these areas are urged to evacuate or relocate to safer regions as soon as possible.

(6) Sudan

Armed conflicts persist.From March 31 to April 6, the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces continued to engage in clashes across multiple regions of the country. Among these, the battle between the two sides over parts of the capital city of El Fasher in North Darfur State in the west resulted in at least 9 civilian deaths and 17 injuries. To date, the nearly two-year-long armed conflict has caused nearly 30,000 deaths, tens of thousands of injuries, and displaced over 12.48 million people in Sudan.

Europe and the Americas

(1) United States 

Two shooting incidents resulted in 3 deaths.On March 31, a shooting incident occurred at Roy Campanella Park on Stanford Avenue in Compton, California, resulting in 1 death. On April 2, another shooting took place at the intersection of Caldwell Street and Central Avenue in Compton, causing 2 deaths. According to statistics from the U.S. "Gun Violence Archive" website, as of April 2, over 3,400 people have died and 5,800 have been injured in various gun violence incidents in the U.S. this year.

(2) Ukraine 

The Russia-Ukraine armed conflict continues. From March 31 to April 6, Russia's special military operation in Ukraine persisted. The Russian Ministry of Defense recently released a combat report stating that over the past week, Russian operational-tactical aviation, attack drones, missile troops, and artillery clusters conducted concentrated strikes on 247 Ukrainian military targets, including airport infrastructure, missile and artillery weapon depots, drone assembly facilities, Ukrainian forces, foreign mercenaries, and equipment. Russian forces continued offensives and repelled Ukrainian attacks in directions such as Kharkiv, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kupiansk, intercepting and shooting down multiple aircraft, aerial bombs, rockets, and hundreds of drones. On the Ukrainian side, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Ukrainian forces engaged and repelled Russian attacks on multiple fronts, destroying several Russian tanks, armored combat vehicles, and one artillery system, while intercepting and shooting down one aircraft and nearly 100 drones.

(3) Ecuador

Multiple attacks result in 2 deaths and 1 kidnappingOn March 31, a woman was kidnapped by several armed men in the parking lot of the La Aurora shopping center in Daule, Guayas Province, Ecuador. On the same day, a shooting incident occurred at the intersection of 12th Street and A Street in the El Cisne 2 district southwest of Guayaquil, Ecuador, resulting in the death of one man. On April 1, a shooting outside the emergency area of the Social Security Institute Hospital in Babahoyo, Los Ríos Province, Ecuador, left one person dead.

(4) Haiti

Mirebalais prison attacked, over 500 inmates escape.On March 31, a prison in Mirebalais, central Haiti, was attacked by armed militants from the anti-government "G9 and Family" coalition, leading to the escape of 532 detainees. That day, the militants stormed a police station, set fire to buildings, and then attacked the prison. Reinforcing police arrived and killed several militants.

(5) Bolivia

Violent clash at northern gold mine leaves 6 dead.On April 3, a violent clash erupted at a gold mine in northern Bolivia, killing at least six people and destroying multiple houses. The mine is located in the town of Yani, approximately 150 kilometers northwest of Bolivia's capital, La Paz. Miners from different regions clashed violently over control of mining areas.

(6) Russia

Energy infrastructure in multiple regions attacked by Ukrainian forces.On April 2, a 110-kilovolt substation owned by an energy company in Russia's Kursk Oblast was attacked by a Ukrainian drone, causing a transformer outage and leaving over 1,200 households without power. On the same day, a 6-kilovolt high-voltage power line in Kursk Oblast was severed by Ukrainian artillery fire, cutting off electricity to more than 300 households. On April 5, energy infrastructure in Russia's Bryansk, Belgorod, Smolensk, and Lipetsk Oblasts was targeted in 14 separate drone attacks by Ukrainian forces.

Maritime Security

(1) Red Sea

Houthis claim continued attacks on U.S. aircraft carrier.On April 3, Yemen's Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree stated that the group had launched a new attack using cruise missiles and drones against the U.S. Navy's aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman in the northern Red Sea. On April 6, the Houthis fired multiple cruise missiles and drones in the northern Red Sea, targeting several warships, including the U.S. carrier Truman.

(2) Greece

Migrant boat capsizes off Lesbos, killing 7.On April 3, a migrant boat capsized near the island of Lesbos in eastern Greece, resulting in at least 7 deaths. Following the incident, the Greek Air Force and Coast Guard rescued 23 people from the affected waters.

(3) Persian Gulf

Iran seizes two oil tankers.On March 31, the oil tankers 'Star 1' and 'Vintage' were seized by Iran in the central waters of the Persian Gulf between the Iranian Plateau and the Arabian Peninsula, with 25 crew members detained. Iran claimed that the two tankers were suspected of diesel smuggling and organized oil theft, and the vessels have been escorted to Iran.
